I just bought it I must say it looks very solid to me ... I mean I didn't get the impression it was an early access. I know a lot of release games that are far worse than this one. I like it the handling is spot on ... the BMW E30 M3 (have got one myself) is really spot one very recognizable behavior.
IF IN DOUBT .... FLAT OUT

Same in Win7, game loads but can't actually drive. This after setting gas, brake, steering etc. to my G 27. Totally useless at this point. Hope they pull their heads out of their asses.

Did you use the setup configurator?

It will setup your controls. After that, you can adjust or customize settings etc.

Yep. Im having trouble setting up my G27 wheel too. The configurator seems broken, the wheel doesn't rotate as it should be. The throttle, brake, clutch, shifting paddles seem to work fine except for the shift stick, it recognizes it but not when i start the race.

Initial drive in the Lotus 49. Insane machines those pre-wing GP cars. :eeek:

But there is an auto configurator. It will guide you step by step to the setup process. It is the top-left icon of the group on the right in the wheel menu..

Nope, there is no auto-configurator, that's just a fantasy. I hit that, and then it says hit any button to start configurator, I hit any and all keys, none does a thing, total waste of time there.

EDIT - even worse, can't access their forum, it asks for a steam login. Normally, that would be fine, but steam seems to think that this is a new computer, which it isn't. So they send me a "code", which is useless, doesn't work when copied and pasted in. Oh well. They obviously won't be able to be able to pull their heads out of their asses, and I seriously doubt these assholes will ever be able to produce a viable game.

The graphics look amazing! Too bad it's only for PC.

For those with G27

They got it working. So the G25/27 are supported. :geek:

The in-game controller setup avoids the lag that you automatically get with windows DX. There is virtually no lag with steering input, one of the things that makes driving in this sim so good. Quick responses get you more involved in the driving.
The support for Fanatec is awesome. Both teams have been working together on this project and it shows.
One of those sims where you actually feel like you are driving a real car. Very well done.

@Speedfreak; indeed a very well polished pre-release version. Rather than pumping out tons of cars, they develop every car properly and the models are also very detailed and accurate. I really enjoy driving in Assetto. Has been a while ;)

@Dpuff; you will automatically drive the car the way it is intended. Stick shift or sequential, depending on the car. There are some tweaks to remove the deadzone.

@Grimx; you can make a normal Assetto Forum account with username and login. No Steam needed.

I'm done with this POS, after getting the configuration wizard to allegedly work, I can turn the wheel, and that shows on the screen. I can shift. Zero acceleration, don't get far without a gas pedal. And yes, I have disabled combined pedals in the Logitech profiler. Someday this game may actually work, but I won't hold my breath waiting.

Why do I have to turn my Wheel so much in order to make a turn in the game?? Which settings must I change?

The G27 and the wheel in the game are not in sync when I start driving. But standing still, both wheels are in sync. Whats the problem here, I tried every solution and settings offered on their forums. Maybe i'm doing something wrong.

Also the Wizard Configurator works fine, everything appears to be working properly as it should.
