Hi MM, nice to see you too:).

The server is still going and it is very stable. Annica and I have been driving there on a weekly basis for the past few months. We were playing the Crew but it grew difficult to stay in the same session and we found ourselves getting pulled into unwanted missions. Unlike many of the earlier challenges (like jumps), there appeared to be no way to turn them off. We tried TDU2 again but lately we haven't been able to get into a session with other, real players. So TDU1 is now where we spend our time driving.

BTW, and off-topic, but did you see that mod, Bruma, that is supposed to be released on Nexus tomorrow? It looks really interesting.

In The Crew you can disable all "Skills" but also the Police chases. Unfortunately that does not prevent other player chases crashing your FD party, as it all takes place in the same open world.
It would have been better to do these chases seperate in some kind of lobby environment, with only Ai and the players who actually do the chase.

I do hope the Police action in TDU3 will be more immersive and fun. And less "In your face" as the Crew "solution". ;)

PS Bruma looks awesome, but that is for the Skyrim Mod section. I still have Skywind somewhere. That was supposed to be released last year.

It might be this "Next Project" on KT website.

This studio, Kylotonn Games, is WRC specialist and makes good driving games.
If they do use that physics engine we might finally get an open world with "real" physics. :woot:

This site has now been updated. There is a section labeled Confidential Project with a picture showing tropical trees and an apparent dirt road. Could be a WRC game but I’m hoping it’s TDU

It is most likely not a new Rally game, as they do have an official WRC license and are advertising with it. And WRC7 has just been released. No need for secrecy there.

When i look at what other games they make; TT (bikes), WRC and even a new Flatout, you can only imagine the fun they will bring once an open world is involved.

So my best guess is still that the Kylotonn team is working on TDU3.

Let's cross fingers that they started working on TDU3 at the moment.

Well, given that each of the previous TDU games took many years to make, I'm guessing this one is still really far away. But in the meantime, I think The Crew 2 will keep me pretty satisfied. I hope that TDU3 continues with making realistic environments and car customization, while Ivory Tower sticks with the more arcadey gameplay.

They seem to be expanding the dev teams.

Yes they have been recruiting for a while now, it would be nice if they would give out a bit more info but then again a lot more open world driving games are around these days compared to when TDU 2 was been worked on so maybe they don't want the competition to get wind of what they are working on. :shhh:
