The True Pacific EmpireAlright folks, it has been a while since I've posted about one of my Civ5 TSL campaigns around here. This is the newest one and I'll be back to playin' as a warmonger as I try to get hold of every tile that borders the Pacific Ocean, hence the title of this campaign, it's also referrin' to my campaign with Tuvalu that was titled "Tuvaluan Pacific Empire" in which the Pacific meant peaceful.
I'll be tryin' to achieve the main objective with a civilization called Malayan Union, this is not the same as the real Malayan Union that came in 1946, this is the semi-fictional Malaya from Europa Universalis IV, pretty much a "what if a native kingdom united all the Malayan-Indonesian archipelago". In this game they're basically an improved Indonesia, a much improved Indonesia, their UA gives them a random luxury resource they don't have each time they settle in a new landmass (which means they can even get unique luxury resources like Indonesia's or even from modded civilizations like Phoenicia's Tyrian dyes), not only that but their settlers get to embark right at the beginnin', not through deep oceans though, and Malaya also gets 30% more gold from city connections. Their unique units aren't as impressive though, their swordman replacement is worse than Indonesia's but I guess that's fair...
So, let's talk more about the campaign itself. Like always, I'm beginnin' to talk about it when I'm already at turn 100, so here are the minimaps I took a screenshot of.
Turn 25:
Turn 50:
Turn 75:
Turn 100:
So far there hasn't been any wars I know of. And yes, I'm aware that Ramkhamtroll is right to the north of me and he has surprisingly not even settled a second city, the good thing is that both Siam and Burma can't really harm me because there is only one tile to access my capital city and it is blocked by my warrior with two archers providin' cover, the bad thing is that I also can't really harm them without much effort... My first war should come at the moment I get the technology to build a galeass, the first ranged naval unit.
These are the settings of the campaign:
And the important mods in use are:
-Aggressive and Expansive AI
-No Research Agreements
-No InstaHeal
-Less Warmonger Hate
-Scouts can enter rival territory
-Future Worlds
Also, I have more objectives than just gettin' hold of every Pacific Ocean coastal tile, they are the followin':
City of Cities: Have a city with 60+ population in the empire
The Points Do Matter: Get a Score of more than 5000
All Your Trade Are Belong to Us: Have a gold income of more than 20,000
Here are 2 InfoAddicts screens:
And for the first time I'll just reveal all the civilizations used in this campaign from the get go.
Africa
Europe
Asia
Siberia
Oceania
North America
Latin America
If the game allow us, in the future you'll understand why Denmark is in North America and why Teddy's USA is in Oceania.
For now just thanks for readin' and I will see you next time.
Out of all the Brazilian states I would hardly expect to ever see in this game Alagoas is one of them, and yet there they are... Weird choice of civilization.

You put them in Greenland, didn't you?
That would be a way to make things different now that I think about it when I suggested you put them in your game but felt it was a little weird to be suggesting a vanilla civ.
Anyway, thank you for putting Harald Bluetooth's Denmark in your campaign. Hope you have a nice and fun game.

Not so weird when you take into consideration the dude who made that civ is from there. It's a nice civ to fill in some gaps (like Magadan).

Yea, you guessed it. Should make things interesting there whether they conquer or are conquered, hopefully they will survive until turn 700.

Oh that's understandable, if I was a modder I would make a Rio De Janeiro and Paraná civilization myself.
But as a Brazilian I have to say that if that was not the case Pernambuco and Rio Grande do Norte would have been better representatives of the Nordeste Brasileiro, better civs to fill some gaps IMO.

I think it would be cool too. I'm still desiring to have more Indian civs in the game.
Yes, me too. I'd say India, China and Oceania are the most untouched region by the civ modders. Lots of civilizations from India that could still be done like Malwa, Jaunpur, Kashmir and the Delhi Sultanate.

Not gonna happen. The only Indian civ I've got some interest in is The Chandelas, and the only thing holdin' me from goin' ahead with a mod to represent them is that I'm not able to find something to be their civ icon.
