you must be an Evocati. they are the only ones that have access to 3.0 right now.

for those of you here at DriveTime, Evocati are a group of players that have been created by Cloud Imperium Games. we have a forum called the issue council where you go to post bugs that are re-creatable so the devs can find them. it is like an extended QA team. the people that do the best job of posting bugs are assigned as an Evocati tester. CIG says they have around 1000 Evocati.

when they release a new patch, they first give access to the Evocati so they can put a load on the system and find bugs the internal QA dont. once the patch is stable for them, then it is released to the test server where everyone can log in and load the system even further. once that is stable they make the full release to the live servers.

so now that 3.0 is out to the Evocati, it is only a matter of time until it is stable enough for everyone.

3.0 wont have all the core tech, but it will have most of it. we will be able to land on and explore 3 moons around the planet Crusader. they are going to use the 3 moons for testing tech for the larger planets.
