Short resume of the progress so far

Note, i have chosen 2K versions of textures wherever i could. More is overkill IMO and a known FPS killer.
I skipped the parallax stuff as i don't really dig it, stones that turn into your direction. It gives some depth effect but can look weird at the same time.
Some optional mods are unavailable ATM, but i managed to grab most of them.

Time spent to download and re-download the acquired and most optional Mods: 5 hours and 30 minutes
Time to unpack and select files and folders: 2 hours and 30 minutes
Time to make the batch file: 10 minutes
Time to make a compressed file in the Mod Manager Map with 7Zip: 30 minutes
Time to install the Combined Mod with Nexus Mod Manager: 10 minutes
Working Map size: 16,7 Gigabyte
Combined File size: 8.7 Gigabyte
Compressed File Size: 4.9 Gigabyte
Number of files: 6700, lol

Total time before launch: Almost 9 hours :eeek:

First impression: Skyrim Boots without an issue. Everything looks well integrated and there is a clear improvement of the overall appearance of the game in comparison to the more or less vanilla game i left behind after uninstalling all previously installed texture packs and mods.
In one word awesome.

Some slight FPS drops in Dawnstar in heavy weather, where i made my save in the Inn before installing this mod.
But remember i do run the game in Ultra settings on a GTX670 mini and Core i5 2500K from my HTPC at 1080p.

Awesome project and if you can find the time, most surely worth the effort.

Wow a lot of time and effort but it sounds worth it. :2thumbsup:
Can you post a few screen shots just to see the difference from vanilla game?

I had to uninstall it again. It made my game very unstable, creating random CTDs. And Black screens due to the game hitting the 3.1 gig limit.
This will probably work only on a vanilla game and a new save. With very little room to add other mods.

Maybe i will make another version in the future with only 1K textures.
Obviously the author is interested in eyecandy more than game play.
Nice for screenies, not for playing.

Right now i'm back with my HD pack from Mystery Modder, RaiserFx Ruins and Clutter and Brumbek's SMIM and better Dynamic Snow.
No issues with those and a great improvement over the default textures and meshes.

Some mods to consider:

Run for Your Lives and When Vampires Attack

This makes villagers take cover, instead of attacking a dragon with a dagger in a dress

The Dawn of Whiterun

Very useful mod that adds 6 market stands to the city, making it a lot more like the trading hub it is supposed to be.

very disappointing having to uninstall after all that work :( but if the game is unplayable then you have no choice.
On the bright side I guess I won't be installing this anytime soon so you've saved me a lot of work

Only disappointing thing is the game hitting the memory cap. That is something you can not avoid with a workaround or else.
I also found out that the Steam workshop reactivates mods you just disabled, lol.

The work was not for nothing, i discovered a lot of cool mods because of it.
And the idea behind it is excellent. But some choices were a bit off tbh. I have much nicer chests now. And the inns in the cold areas had white painted floors again. Mine have a snow texture. And so on.
It would be cool to know how to make a file like that yourself.

Some Projects to look foward too

Skyblivion and Skywind

There are teams working on getting Morrowind and Oblivion to Skyrim.
The worlds are already playable. Quests and interactions need to be done.
Even mods for both "new" provences have been made.
You will need the original games to convert to the Skyrim engine.

The ultimate goal is to recreate Tamriel completely.

Not gonna happen, as no one knows how the landscape of Alinor and Pyrondea are. :violin:

And also, TES:Morrowind was actually in Vvanderfel(that island with the volcano), and not at the entire province.

The point is that no one(except for Bethesda) knows how these places look like, and having an inaccurate mod based on a certain province would piss me off, sure the modder could just look at the official map, but we still have no idea about how the creatures, the weather, and the cities would look like(and there are still ruins and landmarks).TES:O will be set on almost Tamriel, but still, Alinor, east Elsweyr, almost all of Argonia, and Pyandonea(I misspelled it at my previous post) won't be explorable, DLC could take a while(and the only one confirmed is Helgathe, a city at the Hammerfell province)

Even if it was only a joke, I do take these things seriously
