Michael Karkafiris wrote:This is the new McLaren 570GT, the third model in the Sport Series, which offers more luggage space and a more luxurious cabin.

Unlike what we were used to see from McLaren, the new 570GT focuses mainly in everyday usability, with longer journeys in mind.

McLaren has given the 570GT a larger rear glass and a standard fixed panoramic roof which creates a bright, open-air feeling in the cabin. The revised glasshouse also means that the 570GT now offers an additional 220lt of storage in the leather-lined area behind the seats.

Access to the new storage compartment is provided by the new, side-opening rear glass hatch. Other comfort-focused measures include the wider opening of the signature dihedral doors.

McLaren says that they have fine-tuned the suspension and steering system in order to emphasize long-distance comfort while a set of bespoke Pirelli P-Zero tires with Noise Cancelling System further improves the ride quality.

McLaren also takes great pride in the level of craftsmanship provided in the interior of the new 570GT which features extended leather upholstery, electrically adjustable heated seats with memory function, front and rear parking sensors, an electric steering column with easy entry-exit function, soft close doors and a quieter exhaust system compared to the 570S Coupé.

The new McLaren 570GT will be offered from launch with the company’s ‘By McLaren’ designer interior specs, a series designed to offer the widest range of personalisation options for the customers.

As for the chassis, the most road-biased McLaren in the history of the brand features a reduced spring rate of 15 per cent at the front and 10 per cent at the rear and the same electro-hydraulic steering system from the 570S but with a reduced by two per cent ratio.

The twin-turbo 3.8-litre V8 engine is still making 562hp (570PS) and 443lb ft (600Nm) of torque, allowing the new 570GT to accelerate from zero to 62mph (0-100km/h) in 3.4 seconds, 0-124mph (0-200km/h) in 9.8 seconds and onto a top speed of 204mph (328km/h).

With a starting price of £154,000 in the UK market, the new McLaren 570GT will debut at Geneva Motor Show, with first deliveries scheduled towards the end of the year.

Meh, I was expecting a more serious version of the 570S when I entered the thread, the S looks better than the GT BTW.
