BRAD ANDERSON wrote:Land Rover has announced a plethora of upgrades and a new engine for the 2017 Range Rover family.

On a powertrain front, the 2017 Range Rover is now available with the supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine from the Jaguar F-Type. It pumps out a total of 335 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque and has been designed to slot perfectly between the model's diesel V6 and V8 engines. Consequently, it is capable of launching the massive SUV to 60 mph (96 km/h) in a very respectable 7.1 seconds.

For the latest model year, Land Rover has also added a new variant of the range-topping SVAutobiography, dubbed the Dynamic. This model continues to be powered by the firm's potent supercharged 5.0-liter V8, also found in the Sport SVR, accelerating the model to 60 mph in 5.1 seconds. Compared to the standard SVAutobiography, the Dynamic variant welcomes an 8 mm drop in ride height and features a tweaked chassis to make the luxurious off-roader just that little more driver focused.

The 2017 model year is also important for all Range Rover models. The cars boast a number of new technologies including Advanced Tow Assist which as the name implies, helps to take the difficulty out of reversing a trailer. There is also an Intelligent Speed Limiter that is able to automatically the speed by reading traffic signs.

Elsewhere, buyers will be pleased with the addition of the Driver Condition Monitor and advanced Blind Sport Assist.

Additionally, Jaguar Land Rover's InControl Touch Pro infotainment system has been added to the 2017 Range Rover. The system incorporates a 10-inch dual-view touchscreen display and includes the InControl Remote Premium system. This allows the owner to control features like the heated and cooled seats from their smartphone, helping to ensure the car is at the perfect temperature when the doors are opened.

The new infotainment system also has a fully integrated satellite navigation system which again, can work in conjunction with an owner's smartphone as routes from a phone can be seamlessly transferred to the satnav.
