Just a thread for the discussion and news about prototypes and test mules of future production cars and even race cars. This thread's gonna have one general rule, and that is:
If the car that is undergoin' testin' phase already have a thread then post whatever you want about that particular car in the designated thread.
For instance, the Aston Martin DB11 and Ford GT 2017 were already revealed to the public in concept form and both already have a thread, but the respective companies continue to test their cars, so if you have anything to post about these two particular models you should go to their threads.
_____________
Let's begin the thread with one of the most eagerly anticipated cars set to be released next year (maybe), the MK.V Toyota Supra and two renders inspired by the car's test mule spotted a while back.
Do remember that these test mules don't sport road-ready bumpers, lights or a finalized hood so take the renders and design with a grain of salt. I particularly like the blue one but perhaps it's too much of a cross between a Lexus LC500 and a Toyota 86. As for the red one, I wish Toyota would put the FT-1 Concept in production exactly as how it look like and let the Supra be more free of the FT-1's influences.
Prototypes and Test Mules
I hope the new Supra looks nothing like in these renders.Miao wrote:

Mercedes-AMG F1 powered hypercar to rival Aston Martin/Red Bull's officially confirmed.
The silhouette reminds me of an LMP, which is a good thing.
It shouldn't be too hard for them to make it look better than the AM-RB 001.JOHN HALAS wrote:And... it’s official: Mercedes-Benz confirmed today on the eve of the Paris Auto Show what has been circulating around the rumor mill for quite some time now, the development of its first ever AMG hypercar.
Daimler product development chief Thomas Weber broke the news during Mercedes-Benz Media Night event today.
“I’m very excited to officially confirm our next big thing at AMG is already in the pipeline,” said Weber. “We’re going to create an AMG performance hybrid featuring our Formula 1 drivetrain technology, with a league of AMG performance companies joining forces to create the most efficient and at the same time, the best performing and most spectacular AMG of all time. Some may even call it a hypercar.”
“No matter what you call it, it will definitely show how we’ll take our performance brand into the future with extremely efficient and intelligent drivetrain technology. Of course, as you can expect from us, there will be no compromises in terms of the emotional appeal of this car,” Weber concluded.
Merc's current F107 Formula One hybrid racer employs a 1.6-liter turbocharged V6 engine with a KERS energy-recovery system. The Daimler boss did not say if the AMG hypercar, which some believe could be called the R50, will keep the displacement of the F1 racer’s engine, but since motorsport restrictions don’t apply to road cars, we’ll likely see a bigger V6, delivering over 1,000 horses.
Mercedes also dropped a sketch outlining the shape of the upcoming AMG Hypercar that will be a joint project between AMG in Affalterbach, Germany, and the F1 powertrain team in Brixworth, Northampton, which build’s the firm’s F1 engines.
Featuring an F1-style carbonfibre monocoque frame, the AMG R50 will be Mercedes’ answer to the latest crop of hypercars, including Porsche’s 918 Spyder, the LaFerrari, McLaren’s P1 and even Aston Martin’s AM-RB 001.
It will be revealed next year, possibly at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
The hypercar is one of at least 10 new cars that AMG plans to introduce in the near future.
“We will continue to expand our portfolio,” said Tobias Moers, chairman of the board of management Mercedes-AMG. “Starting this year, we will offer the widest model range in the entire performance segment. In fact, we will top our portfolio by at least 10 new cars. With that, we will offer a choice of no less than 48 different AMG performance cars.”

An interestin' sightin'. It's apparently a car called "NextEV 1 MegaWatt" said to deliver one megawatt of power (1000 kW / 1360 hp) like the Toroidion 1MW.

I guess the future Lamborghini Urus could join the fray too. Out of the three that's the best looking one to me, at least in concept form.Warachia wrote:It would be interesting if it was made to rival the Bentley Bentayga.Miao wrote:A Jaguar F-Pace SVR is in the makings.
