LMP1 Porsche at the side of the road, still 8 laps in the lead. Soon® to be overtaken by Jacky Chan Racing, lol.
Only way LMP1 Porsche can win, is if the current No.4 Car can make up the distance to the leading LMP2 cars.
This race is evolving into a thriller with lots of drama.

I think it is a shame that we don't have more manufactures in the GTE class, as Mercedes, Audi, Lambo, BMW, Bentley and McLaren would make it more interesting, and if LMP1 is killed off next year then i would to see GTE / GT3 classes to be bigger.
What a race !
Epic come back from the LMP1 Porsche 919 to grab this edition of LM2017.
They have spent 1 hour in the pits.
2nd overall and winning LMP2, the Jacky Chan team with Ho Pin Tung driving the Dallara-Gibson over the finish.
GTEpro class had a spectacular finish when the Corvette totally lost it, going straight through the gravel and barely made it to the finish line.
Aston Martin gabbing the Victory.
These GT cars have been racing a 24 hour sprint race. Just ridiculous.

This might come true, as BMW will join next year. Also Mclaren has shown interest in a return to Le Mans. And the same goes for lamborghini.Beardroid91 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 18, 2017 1:46 pm I think it is a shame that we don't have more manufactures in the GTE class, as Mercedes, Audi, Lambo, BMW, Bentley and McLaren would make it more interesting, and if LMP1 is killed off next year then i would to see GTE / GT3 classes to be bigger.

I don't i think have watch a Le Mans with this much drama before, such a good race, Pornche only just grabbed the overall win, but those LMP2 cars drove so well.
And shame about Corvettes luck on the last laps, they drove the wheels of those GTE cars.
But epic race, and the perfect weather for racing at Le Mans, but shame about the Togoata's retiring.

The Le Mans podium has been changed. The no.13 car (LMP2 2nd, third overall), Vaillante Rebellion, driven by Piquet, Hansson and Bech has been DQ due to illegal modifications to the car.
It must be disappointing for them. Maybe the curse of the Piquet family? Or is starting number 13 really a thing in Le Mans? That must be a serious case of triskaidekaphobia than
This also implies that Jacky Chan's second car is now officially 3rd overall and 2nd in LMP2.

That verdict is bullshit.
The car 13 team had to problems with the starter motor and the only fix was to tap it with a hammer, and then they drilled a hole in the rear cover to be able to hit the starter motor faster, this is the spirit of Le Mans fighting to keep the cars running at all cost, and they to lose their hard fought 2nd / 3rd overall place then it is just extremely sad.
I doubt it is over yet, as the car didn't get any aero benefits from having a hole in the engine cover, the team also appealled the verdict.
And what makes it even more sad is that has one of the cars with a Danish driver.

LM is very rigid in their applying of rules. But it is indeed a bit harsch decision to DQ a team for making a hole in the bodywork to fix the starter engine. That appeal might have a chance.
