Oullim Motors Spirra EX '11
Image

When Oullim Motors took over Proto – not to be confused with Proton – it inherited the ongoing Spirra project. At the time, this Lamborghini look-alike boasted a 320-horsepower, 4.6-liter V-8 from a Mustang SVT Cobra. When Oullim took over, it dumped the V-8 in favor of a V-6 engine that displaces 2,656 cc and is borrowed from neighboring Hyundai.

These two top trim levels in this supercar, the Turbo and EX, produce 420 and 500 horsepower from their turbocharged and twin-turbocharged engines, respectively. This throws the Spirra Turbo to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds and the Spirra EX to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. Those times are plenty fast enough to put Korea Republic on the supercar map.

Hulme CanAm '11
Image

New Zealand gets into the supercar fun with just one model and it’s one hell of a model. This Hulme CanAm boasts an LS7 7.0-liter GM V-8 that pumps out a whopping 600 ponies and 600 Nm (442 pound-feet) of torque. It’s nearly non-existent body weighs in at just 980 kg (2,160 lbs). There is no mention of its official 0 to 100 km/h time, but with its high-power engine and lightweight body, its assumed to be in the 3.3-second range.

Zenos E10
Image
Since stepping down from the CEO position at Caterham in 2012, British businessman Ansar Ali together with fellow former Caterham executive Mark Edwards went on to start their own car brand, Zenos. At the 2014 Autosport International motorsport event this week, Zenos presented its first product, a new track car dubbed the E10 that goes on sale in Europe later this year, priced from £24,995 (approximately $41,000).
Ignoring the similarities between the E10 and Caterham’s recent AeroSeven concept, which is due to spawn a production version, given its affordable pricing and specifications Zenos’ car should be able to carve out its own niche in the track car market. Zenos’ E10 also has the advantage that it is road legal in most of the markets it's been announced for.

The E10 is a two-seater roadster powered by a mid-mounted 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine sourced from Ford. The engine delivers 200 horsepower and 154 pound-feet of torque, and should provide some pretty interesting performance considering the E10 weighs just 1,433 pounds. Zenos estimates a 0-60 mph time of 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 135 mph. The transmission is a five-speed transverse unit.

Underpinning the vehicle is an aluminum central structure to which additional aluminum subframes and a safety cell is added. Double wishbone suspension is used at both ends, with Bilstein dampers as standard. Optional goodies include a six-speed transmission, limited-slip differential, OZ wheels (16-inch front, 17-inch rear), and uprated brakes.

The driver and passenger sit in a carbon composite monocoque mounted to the central structure and constructed from recycled carbon fiber and thermoplastic. Such a solution is said to be lightweight, strong and cost-effective.

“In designing the car, it was a fine balance; we wanted it to look aggressive without having an outrageous attitude,” Ali said in a statement. “We’d already communicated the engineering of the car, so people knew what underpins it, but the reaction to the design and the pricepoint from the press, industry and potential customers has been really positive.”

Note, Zenos isn’t slowing the pace of its future model development now that its first car has been released. Based on the same chassis architecture as the E10, further models are in the pipeline for the next five years including another roadster and a GT coupe.

Oldsmobile Aerotech I Concept '87
Oldsmobile Aerotech I Concept '87.jpg
"This Oldsmobile was capable of speeds in excess of 267MPH from it's amazing 1000HP 4 cylinder turbocharged engine and aerodynamics"

An experimental machine built by Oldsmobile (Of all GM manufacturers  ) in the mid 80's for the purpose of breakin' speed records and testin' the potential of their new Quad-4 engine. The Aerotech started life as the chassis of the March 84C CART that won the Indy 500 that year, it was rebuilt with Carbon Fiber and a new aerodynamic body that had an underbody that allowed it to distribute downforce from the front to the rear.

Two Quad-4 4 Cylinder engines were used to power this beast, with turbochargers that allowed it to reach the neighbourhood of 1000hp, more than sufficient power for it's intended purpose. There were three Aerotechs built, one long-tailed version and two short-tailed versions.

In August 1987, A.J. Foyt managed to break multiple records at the Fort Stockton Test Track, near Stockton, Texas, going as high as 290MPH on straights.

This is certainly the fastest Oldsmobiles ever made.

Prodrive P2 '06
Image

The Prodrive P2 is a prototype two-seater sports car designed, engineered and built by Prodrive at its Banbury and Warwick sites. The car is based on the platform of the Subaru R1 kei car and has a modified Subaru Impreza WRX STi engine along with many Prodrive systems originally designed for their World Championship and Sports Car Racing programmes. The car's styling was done by Peter Stevens, who also designed the McLaren F1. The car includes rally-inspired anti-lag to prevent turbo lag, as well as an active center and active rear differential that maximizes grip.

A fully working car has been built, and was tested on the TV motoring programme Top Gear — it had 345 bhp (257 kW; 350 PS), obtained a 0-60 mph time of 3.8 seconds, a top speed of 174 miles per hour (280 km/h), and had a Power Lap of 1:24.3, beating such cars as the TVR Sagaris, Audi R8, BMW M5 and Aston Martin Vanquish. It also made Jeremy Clarkson appear to vomit after driving around a circle of cones extremely rapidly to demonstrate its computer-controlled differential system's anti-understeer capabilities.

The car's active rear differential automatically shifts torque to whichever of the rear wheels needs it most during manoeuvering, based on spin-slip sensor readings; this is a common rally-car technology rarely seen on road cars. Prodrive has claimed that the car could retail for around £40,000-£50,000, but has said there are no plans to put the car into production at present.

Bertone Carabo '68
Image

Presented at the 1968 Paris Motor Show, the Bertone Carabo was a futuristic sportscar based on the Alfa Romeo 33 chassis. Designed by Marcello Gandini, it featured original solutions such as scissor doors and multi-coloured glass windows.

The 1968 Alfa Carabo concept marked a revolutionary stage in supercar design, with its hydropneumatic-powered scissors doors – later adopted on the Lamborghini Countach – and multi-coloured one way glass windows.

How about this for the list, it would be ideal for off-road (we should have a separate list for off-road vehicles  )

In that case add the Willys Jeep and first Land Rover as classic off roaders ;)

And off course the Hummer H2, even if that one is usually only used for the City Jungle and not for off roading at all
