Carlsson Super GT C25 Royale '11
Image

The Super GT C25 Royale is a tuning project based on the Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG . It includes an abundance of carbon fiber elements, as well as optimized driving dynamics and perfected electronics. Carlsson will only build 25 units of the C25 Royale, one unit for each country the vehicle will be sold in.

The burgundy color covering the Mercedes is the perfect match for the full carbon fiber treatment given to the components of the car. These carbon fiber additions allow for a 180 kilo weight drop while also lowering the car’s center of gravity, allowing for more dynamic cornering ability, and more agile handling. Carlsson is also offering a full ceramic brake system with solid aluminum calipers.

For the interior, the Super GT C25 Royale gets ergonomically shaped seats, which have a massage function and a ventilation system to ensure greater comfort on long journeys.

Customers can choose their own colors and paint combinations, as well as what material will be used for the interior.

The C25 Royale is powered by a V12 biturbo engine mated to a SPEEDSHIFT 5-gear automatic. This combination delivers a total of 753 HP at 5000 rpm and maximum torque of 1320 NM at 3750 rpm, but electronically limited to only 1150 Nm at 2000 to 4000 rpm. With this amount of power, along with a Kurb weight of 1970 kg, the sports car will sprint from 0 to 100 Km/h in 3.7 seconds and will hit a top speed of 351 Km/h. Its power-to-weight ratio sits at 2.61 kg/hp.

A stiffer C-Tronic suspension and a compete ceramic brake system helps the wheels stick to the ground while a new exhaust system with four diamond-shaped tailpipe allows for the beautiful engine sounds to be heard.

Rezvani Beast '14
Image
Ciprian Florea wrote:Anytime you hear an upstart automaker promise the world and deliver little to nothing, you get desensitized with the hype these soon-to-be-unveiled exotics have. But something about Rezvani Motors is different, in large part because it’s just debuted a supercar with a ridiculously high bar attached to it. Rezvani is promising to shame other supercars with ’The Beast.’

Rezvani Motors has done a good job keeping the project under wraps up to this point, opting only to say that the Beast will make use of "lightweight racing technologies" to go with an engine that will "leave other supercars in the dust." Very, very strong words.

But if you’re thinking that Rezvani is drinking way too much hyperbole juice, the company remains unfazed about throwing out all these promises. After all, based on the newly released information and photos, the car might actually have a chance at stirring the supercar waters.

Whether it lives up to Rezvani’s claim that the Beast will be the "purest driving experience" on the market today is still up to interpretation. Maybe with these claims, it’s not unreasonable to expect the Beast to put down around 800-plus horsepower, right?

Updated 05/05/2014: Rezvani unveiled the first official details and photos on its new Beast supercar.

Wiesmann Spyder Concept '11
Image

Wiesmann, a small German manufacturer who started their career making hardtops for convertibles, has revealed the Spyder Concept at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. The concept is a two-seater, extremely purist, convertible sports car. The company described the Spyder as the most extreme Wiesmann ever built.

The Spyder concept weighs only 1000 kgs and will sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds, while top speed goes up to 290 km/h. The Wiesmann Spyder design study is based on the Wiesmann brothers’ early designs, though it also incorporates their many years of experience in sports car construction. It demonstrates the sports car manufacturer’s receptiveness to trends because many Wiesmann fans have approached the company founders in recent years with requests for an extremely purist model.

0-100 km/h time = 4.0 secs
Top Speed = 290 km/h

Wiesmann-GT MF5 '08

It is a perfect blend of the corporate philosophy’s contents, which is a combination of beautiful body shapes and state-of-the-art technology. The appearance of this super sports car alone would clearly signal the arrival of something extraordinary: a very low and cowered-down body in combination with wide base tyres stand for abounding power and a highly racy vehicle to be expected.

The drive system of this super sports car comprises a 12:1 compacted V 10-cylinder front-mounted mid-engine with a cubic capacity of 5 litres boasting 547 hp which are generated by 7,750 crankshaft rotations. A maximum torque of 680 Nm ensures a powerful drive at all speeds and driving fun at its best.

In spite of all its safety features, the vehicle’s bigger size, the engine’s high capacity, and the corresponding sequential 7-speed transmission system (in connection with a variable differential lock) account for a modest increase in weight of only 100 kg compared to the MF 4. The resulting driving performance is beyond each doubt: the acceleration time of 0 – 100 km/h is 3.9 seconds, and a top speed of 312 km/h. With this value the MF 5 ranks among the top class of the sportsters league.

0-100 km/h time = 3.9 secs
Top Speed = 312 km/h

Spectre R42 '96
Spectre R42 '96.jpg
The Spectre R42 is a 2-seater mid-engined rear-wheel drive sportscar built by British speciality car manufacturer Spectre Supersport Ltd.

The car was first designed by Ray Christopher of GT Development fame, who was notable for building accurate replicas of Ford GT40. The R42 was the modern reincarnation of the GT40 given the same wheelbase and size of the cars together and was first shown at the London Motor Show in the early-mid nineties.

The chassis of the car is a monocoque and is made of lightweight material as of other parts of the car such as the suspension and body, which gave it the final weight of around 1250 kilograms (1.23 tons). The car is 4115 mm (13.4') in length, 1854 mm (6.0') in width, and 1092 mm (3.5') in height. The heart of the sportscar is a 4.6 litre (281 cubic inches) Ford V8 with 4 valves per cylinder which develops 360 hp (268 kW) and 317 lb·ft (430 N·m) of torque allowing the car to reach100 km/h in 4 and a half seconds and on to a top speed of 280 km/h. The weight distribution of 42% at the front and 58% at the rear because of the mid-mounted engine makes it a very predictable car when driving it very fast. The wide tyres give plenty of grip in dry conditions. The race-style independent suspension, which is a shock absorbing unit, is fully adjustable, so as a result, it has a great ride quality and is very comfortable even at high speeds.

The very spacious interior of the R42 contains luxurious leather trims and neat Wilton carpets. Visibility is also very good compared to other mid-engined sportscar of that time, even of today. There is a good amount of luggage and storage space as well.

The R42 had a starring role in the 2000 Ian Sharp film "RPM" where it plays the prototype eco-friendly supercar that David Arquette has to steal.
