Peugeot 907 '04
Peugeot 907 '04.jpg
The 907 is a two-seater coupe and a modern classic. Reminiscent of the great French coachbuilding, the 907 fuses a large capacity engine together with a flowing shape. It is a conjunction of advanced technology and motoring tradition.

First revealed at the Paris Motor Show in 2004, the car was created by styling chief Gérard Welter and designer Jean-Christophe Bolle-Reddat to celebrate the closure of the firm's 40- year-old design centre at La Garenne, and the opening of a new one at Vélizy.

The 907 is powered by a 6.0 litre V12 engine, The 500 hp capable of engine is positioned longitudinally behind the front axle; connected by a small propshaft, it transmits a power to a six-speed gearbox placed longitudinally in front of the rear axle. Keeping both the major power train elements within the axles, helps the 907 to keep its heavy masses near the center of the car.

The chassis structure consists principally of a carbon fibre shell, to which the mechanical components, for example, the four double wishbone suspension units, are attached. Set into the bonnet, a glazed panel reveals twelve intake trumpets reminiscent of an Italian thoroughbred.

The roof and front windscreen form a single glazed area in harmony with the rear windscreen. Side vents are situated in the front wings and rear quarter panels, adjacent to the glazed roof, while a retractable rear spoiler is incorporated in the tailgate. Two exhaust pipes emerge from either side of the car, which is equipped with 18 inch wheels and Michelin tyres, 275/40 at the front and 345/35 at the rear.

Inside, brown leather and light grey alcantara trim is used to cover both the interior and the seats. The steering wheel and the gear lever knob have authentic wood inlays. The instrument panel, although digital, is displayed in analogue style and the touch screen of the central console is connected to an onboard PC.

What you see here is a V12 Peugeot supercar. :eeek:
That is beautiful. Image
And they said Peugeot couldn't make supercars...

This here was a fully functionable concept car, but once again Peugeot ignored the chance of entering the world of supercars. :angry-banghead:

It's a nice car though.

Ascari KZ1 '03
Ascari KZ1 '03.jpg
During two days in September 2003, a new legend was born with the reveal of the new Ascari KZ1 at Race Resort Ascari in Southern Spain, the worlds first Race Resort. The guests exclusively invited to this spectacular introduction experienced something that all car lovers around the world dream of. he Ascari KZ1 was designed and developed to achieve supercar performance with a race-bred aerodynamic package, whilst also incorporating a carbon fibre chassis and body, and using technology which is employed by many of today's leading Formula 1 and Sports car teams.

With its 6-speed manual transmission and central carbon fibre honeycomb monocoque structure, the new KZ1 can reach a speed of 0-100 km/h within 3.7 seconds and climb to a top speed in the region of 323 km/h, propelled by its powerful mid-mounted, naturally-aspirated, dry sump BMW S62 90-degree V8, which has been tuned for a total of 520 hp at 7000 rpm.

The Ascari KZ1 is available in two forms: the luxury sports coupe, which will have the full specification, and the Ascari KZ1-R, which is a more focused track version. It will not only perform well against other cars in its class, but will also be at home in slow speed traffic, cruising the open road, the motorway or on closed circuits.

Bentley Speed 8 '03
Bentley Speed 8 '03.jpg
The Bentley Speed 8 (developed from the Bentley EXP Speed 8) was an Autosport Award Winning Le Mans Prototype race car that was designed by Peter Elleray. The EXP Speed 8 debuted in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2001 and won the race in 2003. It has a strong resemblance to and shares some technology with the Audi R8C, which had raced only once before Audi dropped the project to focus on the later dominant Audi R8. The EXP Speed 8 marked Bentley's return to racing after a 73-year absence.

All design, development and manufacturing for the Bentley was done by the English outfit, Racing Technology Norfolk (RTN), located in Norfolk, United Kingdom. Chief designer was Peter Elleray.

The engine from the Audi R8, a 3.6 litre V8 with (Honeywell Turbo Technologies) turbocharger, was used as the initial powerplant in 2001. The six-speed gearbox was also not the typical Ricardo unit from the R8, but instead a custom unit developed by Xtrac. Bentley also chose to run on Dunlop tyres instead of the Michelins used by Audi.

Following its initial year of competition, the Audi-sourced V8 was modified to better suit the EXP Speed 8. This saw the engine expanded to 4.0 litres, producing approximately 600 hp. This would ultimately lead to Bentley redesigning the car for 2003, leading to the change of name to simply Speed 8. The flat front end was replaced with a raised crash box for a nose, while deep valleys ran between the nose and fenders. This required the addition of large horizontal bodywork between the nose and fenders to shroud the suspension arms of the Speed 8. The cockpit would also be tapered to allow for better airflow to the rear wing. Bentley also decided to switch to Michelin tyres for their 2003 campaign.

Looks too much like the Toyota Corolla sold in Uruguay, it gets even stranger as we also have the Camry, so the entire Toyota line up is all screwed in South America. Image

Regardless of that, it looks nice, 680 hp? Image

I think that the manufacturers should stop changing the names of their cars just because it's being sold in another continent, the only exception is when you have multiple branches, Toyota with Scion or Chevrolet with Opel for example.

Nope.

Certain cars really need a name change depending on the region, for example, Ford Pinto would actually mean Ford Dick in portuguese...
