無限 S2000 '00
無限 S2000 '00.jpg
Mugen Motorsports (M-TEC Co., Ltd) (無限) is a Japanese company formed in 1973 by Hirotoshi Honda, the son of Honda Motor Company founder Soichiro Honda, and Masao Kimura. Mugen, meaning "Without Limit", or "Unlimited", (hence the commonly placed word "Power" after, denoting "Unlimited Power") is an engine tuner and parts manufacturer closely associated with the Honda Motor Company. Despite the family connections, however, Mugen is not, and has never been, owned by Honda Motor Company.

The Honda S2000 represented the company's new-age car and although the people were linking it to an oversized go-kart, it possessed plenty of performance. Even though the stock Honda S2000 had much performance, there was much room for improvements. Mugen, a company that specializes in Honda tuning and motorsports, created its own rendition of the two-seat roadster that showed just how much potential this car had.

Mugen refined the car's exhaust system, by making its 4-2-1 type to improve performance in the 6000 rpm - 8000 rpm range. On the intake side, it installed its own intake box made of lightweight carbon-fiber. These changes drastically improved the engine's breathing, making it more efficient and improving power. For the suspension system, Mugen installed special adjustable shocks to improve cornering and decrease body roll.

Deserving special mention was the car's improved aerodynamics that came by way of Mugen's flashy body kit. In wind tunnel tests, the S2000 minimized air resistance while producing an evenly-balanced downforce between the front and rear ends, thus ensuring good grip for all four tires and exceptional high-speed stability. Many of the S2000's body panels, such as the hood and hard top, were made of carbon-fiber.

The Mugen S2000 shined everywhere it went, whether that was cruising the streets of Tokyo or attacking a local race circuit. Indeed the Mugen S2000 was a truly improved version of a sports car that was already quite excellent to begin with.

The ÚVMV 1100 GT (or Škoda 1100 GT) is a coupé car from AZNP made in 1970. It was exhibited at Plzeň Expo and the next year at the Geneva Motor Show. The design of the car was based on the Saab Sonett II, with the doors and rear end being almost identical to the Sonett, but with the front inspired by the Ferrari Dino. Unlike the Saab it used the rear-engine, rear-wheel drive layout. It was powered by a modified Škoda 110 A2 engine. Only seven were ever built, three of them have registration numbers of the Nový Jičín District and two were variously rebuilt. It was the opponent of the Škoda 110 Super Sport Ferat.

Chevrolet Corvette Daytona Prototype '12
Chevrolet Corvette Daytona Prototype '12.jpg
The Corvette Daytona Prototype is a prototype racing car competing in the Rolex series in North America. The car is new to 2012 and marks Chevrolet's return to Daytona racing as a full constructor and not just as an engine manufacturer. Previously General Motors had competed in Rolex racing under the Pontiac as well but shelved that program when they discontinued the Pontiac brand.

uilt as a collaborative project by Chevrolet, Corvette Designers, Pratt & Miller, and GRAND-AM, the Corvette Daytona Prototype infuses plenty of industry expertise in one smoking hot project. The design of this race car was inspired by the MSA GTP Corvette Prototype that was campaigned by Hendrick Motorsports back in the ’80s and carries numerous design and styling cues from the street-spec Corvette.

“Racing and performance are the founding principles of Chevrolet, and bringing the Corvette Daytona Prototype to GRAND-AM is a tremendous opportunity,” said Jim Campbell, Chevrolet Vice President, Performance Vehicles and Motorsports, “The opportunity for innovation is what makes the Daytona Prototype Class such a good fit for Chevrolet.

“Sports car and endurance racing is an outstanding platform for manufacturers like us to test and learn. The design of this race car incorporates iconic Corvette styling cues and will be immediately recognized by sports car enthusiasts and fans of GRAND-AM Road Racing,” he adds, “We are excited to see the Corvette DP compete in the legendary Rolex 24 at Daytona next January.”

Engine: Chevrolet 5.5 litre V8 naturally aspirated.
Transmission: sequential manual.
Drivetrain: MR.

Riley Technologies Daytona Prototype '14
Riley Technologies Daytona Prototype '14.jpg
The 2014 TUDOR United SportsCar Championship series was an important part of Ford ’s racing history, as the company introduced a 3.5-liter, V-6 EcoBoost racing engine in a new-look Daytona Prototype racecar . Both the car and engine will made their racing debut at the 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona on Jan. 25th and 26th.

The new racecar was developed in cooperation with Riley Technologies and designed by lead Ford production designer Garen Nicoghosian, and Ford Racing chief aerodynamicist Bernie Marcus took the reins on tweaking the car’s aerodynamics.

There's no information on how much HP the 3.5 L EcoBoost V-6 generates, but on road cars like the Ford Taurus SHO it generates 365 hp @5500 rpm and 350 lb·ft (475 N·m) @3500 rpm.
