Maserati GS Zagato '07
Maserati GS Zagato '07.jpg
The Maserati GS Zagato was a one-off design commissioned by Paolo Boffi, an entrepreneur in furnishing and design. The Maserati GS Zagato was first shown at the 2007 Concours d’Elegance Villa d’Este.

Based on the Maserati GranSport Spyder platform, the styling of the GS Zagato is influenced by the Maserati A6 G Zagato from 1954. And, like its predecessor, the GS Zagato has all aluminium bodywork and bears the Maserati Trident badge on the bonnet and the trademark 'Z' on the wing.

The 2007 GS Zagato features a neatly rounded tail section with clean trim elements like taillights, exhaust tips and number plate inlay barely interrupting the lines. At the front there are extensive modifications including new lights, bumper, grille, front wings and hood. The other most notable design change is the way the rear 3/4 windows meet the rear window at the top corners and provide a flowing line wrapping around the rear of the car.

Powering the Maserati GS Zagato is the same 4.2 litre V8 found in the Maserati GranSport. This unit develops 400 horsepower @ 7000 rpm.

Well it's good to see the Maserati didn't suffer the same fate as the Corvette.

Diatto Ottovu Zagato '07
Diatto Ottovu Zagato '07.jpg
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Diatto brand, two keen collectors turned to Zagato with the aspiration of resurrecting past collaboration. Way back in 1921, Ugo Zagato designed a lightweight and aerodynamic body for the Diatto 25 4DS chassis. Having applied for and, of course, obtained authorisation from the current owner of the Diatto brand, and having received the two mechanized chassis, the Zagato Atelier produced two tailor-made outfits for the lucky customers in the typical Italian highclass tailoring tradition.

In 2007, the Milanese Atelier with its typically rationalist approach to a project, revamps, with a sporty note, the artistry of one of the most historical brands of the Italian automotive industry: Diatto. Created in 1835 with a Perfected Wheel patent, Diatto made their first car in 1905 and often crossed paths with Zagato in their close collaboration with Ettore Bugatti, the Maserati brothers and Tazio Nuvolari.

The bodywork of the two new grand touring cars is entirely made of aluminium, one of Zagato’s strengths, valued and recognised far and wide by the most demanding collectors. The lids are moulded in a single piece to underline the freedom that a nonindustrial approach to the product still allows. The smooth but clear-cut lines characterise the generous and at the same time compact dimensions, typical of the most admired pure Italian sports cars, making them a cult for fans all over the world.

Reminiscent of the legendary Zagato Ottovù, these first two grand touring cars will be an "Instant Classic" in shape and contents.

The trilobal front and rear of the vehicles recall the design of the Diatto competition cars that have raced to victory more than 300 times on circuits all over Europe.

Particular care has been taken with the interior and the exclusive design and functionality of the rear of the vehicle, so as to provide enhanced passenger comfort.

The luggage compartment, immediately behind the seats and also visible through the rear window, recalls the by now traditional solutions of the Milanese Atelier.

In the third millennium, following the successful Aston Martin GTZ series and the allround appreciation for the Ferrari 575GTZ, Zagato Atelier reasserts its original approach to the automotive world by producint collector’s items that maintain and increase their value over time.

I don't know how Tsuki-chan feels about it though...

To be honest, I think that this car is one ugly piece of work, who the heck thinks that looks good? Image

I feel different things about this car. It got a redesigned back, which looks good, but it also shows that Zagato was lazy to redesign the front. I looked for it and I found out that it has a power output of 602 hp, this makes the car acceptable. :geek:

And between the Ferrari and Bentley, I prefer the Bentley.
