Rapier SL-C LS9 '10.jpg
Based out of Boston, Massachusetts, Rapier Automotive has spent time preparing its mid-engine supercar for five years and is now taking orders. Almost completely hand-built, the Rapier Superlight Coupe, or SL-C for short, is completely customizable, offering customers several different powerplant, color and interior options.

Customers can choose from three Chevrolet-derived engine choices, all of which can be transplanted underneath a clamshell hood behind the passenger compartment. The first model is the LS376 which has a 6.2L, 469 lb-ft. of torque and which produces 480 hp. It can do the quarter mile in 10.6 seconds and the 0-100 km/h sprint in 3.2 seconds with a top speed of 358 km/h. If you are looking for a little more power, the LS7 and the supercharged, LS9 are also available. The LS7 has a 7.0L, 470lb-ft. of torque engine and produces 505 hp while the LS9 comes with a 6.2L SC, 604 lb-ft. of torque engine and produces 638 hp.

This beast comes with an aluminum, tig-welded, Monocoque chassis/space frame hybrid with composite body panels and tips the scale at 2,375lbs. The vertical opening motorized doors and functional roof scoop feed cabin with aircraft style vents create the sporty look for this supercar. The exterior is finished off by 18X10 multispoke, aluminum wheels in the front and 18X13 multispoke, aluminum wheels in the rear that can be completed in an array of finishes.

The interior can also be customized with choices of either leather trim, carbon fibre, or a combination of both. The SL-C comes with a Digital Dash 2 Pro+ with data logging, 2-axis G-sensors, and infra-red lap timer and receiver. The standard audio system includes an Alpine DVD/CD/MP3 receiver/AV head unit and a navigational system while the upgraded premium system includes an Escort 9500 CI concealed radar detector/laser shifter.

Not you and, therefore, it doesn't matter.

For your information, it didn't happen in this forum either.

Fair enough. I'll just assume someone was a "total arse". Something like that.

Sorry for going off topic.

Peugeot RC HYmotion4 '08
Peugeot RC HYmotion4 '08.jpg
The Peugeot RC HYmotion4 which was unveiled at the 2008 Paris Motor Show is a sleek four-door coupe concept designed to bring together the engineering experience and styling lessons learnt from the previous Peugeot concepts.

The styling of the Peugeot RC HYmotion4 displays many of the same characteristics found on the 908 RC. However the same feline features which Peugeot are known for are still apparent, most noticeably in the shape of the slit-like headlights and grille shape which forms the nose.

The Peugeot RC HYmotion4 is powered by a hybrid drivetrain which consists of a 218 horsepower (160kW) 1.6-litre THP petrol engine located at the rear of the vehicle, and a 95 horsepower (70kW) electric motor under the bonnet. Working in conjunction they provide a highly respectable 313 horsepower (230kW) and a combined cycle of just 109 g/km, or zero in electric only mode. The transmission is handled by a paddle shift semi-auto unit which sends the power to all four wheels. With this drivetrain the RC HYmotion4 is able to hit 100 km/h in an impressive 4.4 seconds.

Inside the Peugeot RC HYmotion4 concept are four individual seats. The predominantly black interior is subtly highlighted with blue lighting and trim elements.

Lamborghini 400GT Monza '66
Lamborghini 400GT Monza '66.jpg
The Lamborghini 400 GT Interim Monza was a one-off 2 seated sports car from Italian manufacturer Lamborghini. It was based on their 400 GT, but featured unique bodywork by Neri and Bonacini.

After almost ten years' investigation and pursuit, Bonhams has been successfully consigned this Lamboghini prototype that had been hidden from public view since soon after its sale to the present owner's family in 1966.

This uniquely exotic front-engined Lamborghini - christened the '400GT Monza' - has been the object of speculation by Italian car collectors and Lamborghini enthusiasts. Many have doubted its survival and its whereabouts has been a much-discussed question.

In fact, this Lamborghini Monza first saw the light of day in May 1966, combining the marque's acclaimed 400GT chassis with gloriously voluptuous, Ferrari-esque coachwork hand-crafted by tiny local autofficina Neri & Bonacini. They are best remembered for their masterly coachwork creations on rival Ferrari chassis but also builders of the original prototype Lamborghini chassis and engine.

The Lamborghini 400 Monza's coachwork is, in fact, reminiscent of a Ferrari 250GTO, right from its low, wide mouth through to its steeply raked windscreen (which was taken from a '64 GTO). But the Monza is distinguished by a Maranello sports-prototype-inspired vestigial 'basket handle' roof design, the body styling then terminating in an almost horizontal fastback which was truncated by a classically cut-short, 'Kamm' or 'transom' tail treatment. Trademark blade-like bumpers complete its signature Neri & Bonacini styling.

According to at least one contemporary source, company founder Ferruccio Lamborghini followed this 400GT Monza project closely, hoping that it might bear greater fruit than an earlier design by Neri & Bonacini for a lightweight 350GT.

Exhibited to the public for the first and only time at the 1966 Barcelona Motor Show, the Monza was instead sold to a wealthy Spanish sportsman After being used mainly to transport its owner to race meetings in which he was driving his Porsche 906 and 908 competition cars, the unique Lamborghini Monza was laid-up in 1970 with just over 7,000km recorded on its odometer.

Retained by the owner's family after his death, this unique Lamborghini Monza is preserved in a very original state. It was sold at Bonhams' annual London Olympia sale on 5 December 2005 at a price of $315 000 USD including buyer's premium.

Hyundai HCD8 '04
Hyundai HCD8 '04.jpg
Hyundai unveiled the concept vehicle from the Hyundai Kia Design and Technical Center for 2004, the stylish and functional HCD8 sports tourer. The HDC8 is the newest concept vehicle from the Hyundai Kia Design and Technical Center Design studio and is the first concept vehicle to come from Hyundai's new $30 million Design and Technical Center in Irvine, Calif.

Highlighting the exciting design elements is the Ballistic Yellow tri-color paint from Nippon. The body color is complemented with anthracite color ground effects trim and road wheels. The exterior trim is polished nickel. The interior is finished with two-tone Vapor Gray leather seating surfaces accented by wood flooring and wood and aluminium accented steering wheel rim and shift lever knob. The aluminium trim is accented with a nickel finish.

The HCD8 with its supercharged 2.7-liter V6 engine, 6-speed manual transaxle and tuned dual exhaust provides performance to match its styling. For real world driving, the driver can adjust the ride height a total of four inches through the air suspension. The vehicle can sit low for high-speed touring or can be raised to handle inclement weather, avoid parking wheel stops, handle a car wash or any other situation where additional ground clearance is needed.

The HCD8 also features state-of-art lighting. The LPI-supplied optics use Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology from Osram Opto Semiconductor to illustrate how future automotive lighting systems will work. The LED lights burn brighter, and are more energy efficient than current lighting systems. In addition, they are expected to last for the life of the vehicle. Unlike incandescent bulbs, LED lighting performance does not deteriorate during its life.

Ford Gran Torino '74
Ford Gran Torino '74.jpg
The Ford Torino is an automobile which was produced by the Ford Motor Company for the North American market between 1968 and 1976. It was a competitor in the intermediate market segment. The car was named after the city of Turin (Torino, in Italian), considered the Italian Detroit.

Most Torinos were conventional cars, and generally the most popular models were the 4-door sedans and 2-door hardtops. However, Ford produced some high-performance versions of the Torino by fitting them with large powerful engines, such as the 428 cu in (7.0 L) and 429 cu in (7.0 L) "Cobra-Jet" engines.

The 1974 model year saw more revisions to the Torino line. Government safety regulations now required that the rear bumpers must also meet the 5 mph (8.0 km/h) standard, so all Torinos had the rear bumper and tail lamp panel redesigned. The new rear bumpers were much larger, square shaped, and sat lower on the body. No longer was there a roll pan located below the bumper as on the 1972–73 models. The tail lights were now shorter, more square, and wrapped around the corner, which eliminated the need for rear side marker lights. The fuel filler neck moved to a position above the bumper, rather than below as on 1972–73 models. It was now behind an access door in the centre of the tail light panel just below the trunk lock, rather than behind the licence plate. The front fascia for Gran Torinos was revised for 1974. The new grille was of similar shape to the 1973, but was slightly larger and divided into 8 equal sized vertical sections. A revised emblem was located on the left side of the grille. It had a much finer mesh pattern, and now had the parking lamp lenses mounted vertically behind the outer sections. The front bumper was revised to be slightly more pointed, and the bumper guards were moved more towards the centre of the bumper compared to 1973 models. The license plate bracket was relocated to the driver's side of the bumper. Torino models carried on with the same front fascia as 1973; however, its front bumpers were revised similarly to the Gran Torinos and the license plate remained in the center. Gran Torino Broughams featured a full width red lens across the rear, but the centre portion was non-functional. Broughams and Squires had a stand-up hood ornament inplace of the emblem on the grille.

All Torinos and Gran Torinos now came with the 302-2V as the base engine, and the 3-speed manual remained the standard transmission. As in previous years, the larger V8 engine options required Cruise-O-Matic as a mandatory option. The 429-4V was replaced with the 460-4V which produced more power and torque, and was equipped with dual exhaust. Like the 429, the 460 was automatic transmission only. All other engines saw a slight increase in power levels compared to 1973. The 351 CJ remained the only performance engine (it produced more power than the 460-4V), and saw a 9 hp (6.7 kW) increase and a loss of 22 ft·lbf (30 N·m) or torque. It was the only engine available with the 4-speed transmission; however, this engine was limited to 2-door models only. The tide had turned against performance cars especially since the Oil Crisis in the fall of 1973. Accordingly, 1974 was the last year for the 351 CJ and four-speed transmission.

Jaguar XJ Spider Pininfarina '78
Jaguar XJ Spider Pininfarina '78.jpg
The 1978 Jaguar XJ Spider was bodied by the famous coachbuilder Pininfarina and produced for the London Motor Show. It had taken only five months to complete. Some styling was borrowed from the E-type such as the oval-shaped front air intake and its aggressive stance with the wheel-wells buldging over the wheels. It had a convertible top and pop-up headlights.

The front and rear were constructed of impact-absorbing polyurethane. The rear is rather long but this could mean there was plenty of luggage space making this vehicle the perfect grand touring automobile. Under the hood was a powerful Jaguar twelve-cylinder engine in 'vee' configuration. Future concept and production cars drew their inspiration from the XJ Spider, such as the F-Type prototype and the XK8. The XJ-Spider showed how the XJ-S may have been a worthy successor to the famous E-Type.

Underneath the bodywork resided a 5343cc V12, which produced 284 hp and was mated to a five-speed gearbox. Despite sharing the same chassis with the XJ-S, the Pininfarina XJ Spider was shorter, wider and rode lower than the XJ-S, giving it sportier intentions. As its new name suggested, it was given a convertible roof (beating Jaguar’s targa-roofed XJ-S by some 5 years), as well as some pop-up headlights and interesting instrumentation inside.
