TVR T440R '03
TVR T440R '03.jpg
The TVR Tuscan is a sports car which was manufactured by TVR in the United Kingdom from 1999 to 2006.

With the T440R, traditional strengths have been taken to an altogether higher level. Its stunning bodywork is all carbonfibre, its massively strong chassis uses aluminium honeycomb to greatly improve its stiffness, and its hugely powerful engine is connected to TVR's own six speed sequential gearbox. It is TVR's technological tour de force, a 346 km/h showcase for TVR's abilities.

The engine of the T440R is a derivative of TVR's own Speed Six engine but has been extensively developed in order to produce a huge 440 hp. It is bigger than any other TVR six cylinder engine at 4.2 litres and has a raft of high tech Motorsport componentry. 100 km/h comes up in less than 4 seconds but it is from there to its top speed of 346 km/h that the Tuscan T440R really leaves the competition standing.

To cope with all that power, the car has not just a new chassis, but a new type of chassis. Designed from the ground up with the aid of sophisticated CAD/CAM software, the rigidity of the steel chassis is added to significantly by the race-type rollcage and the use of aluminium honeycomb and carbonfibre for the floor.

Also a first for a roadgoing TVR is to have adjustable dampers whereby customers will be able to fine-tune the suspension set up of their T440Rs for road or circuit use. Brakes are powerful ventilated discs all round with four piston callipers at the front with a high performance option of even bigger discs and six piston callipers for even better stopping ability.

Aerodynamics have played an increasingly significant role in the design of TVRs over the years and the T440R takes this to the logical next level. A lot of attention has been paid to drag and lift with the result that its coupe shape owes most of its from to the demands of the aerodynamicists. A phenomenally low drag coefficient of 0.32 is the result of all this attention to detail and its virtually flat floor, front splitter and rear diffuser work together to give it unparalleled high speed stability.

The interior of the T440R reflects its race car underpinnings with a distinctly minimalist style pervading the interior. Unusually, the carbonfibre and aluminium structure of the car is highly polished and left on show, giving the cabin a utilitarian but extremely high quality feel. The seats are unique to the model and are manufactured from carbonfibre but trimmed from the highest quality Scottish hides.

Alpine A110-50 '12
Alpine A110-50 '12.jpg
The Renault Alpine A110-50 Concept was named as such because it pays tribute to the 50th anniversary of the Alpine A110. Its exterior design was inspired by the Renault DeZir concept unveiled at the 2010 Paris Motor Show and its technical side was borrowed from the Renault Megane Trophy.

The Alpine A110-50 Concept takes the design elements from the iconic Berlinette (A110) and gives them a modern interpretation. The new concept includes the new Renault design language introduced by Laurens van den Acker with the DeZir concept car.

The concept can be immediately recognized thanks to its elegant, flowing bodywork painted in a very cool blue which refreshes and reinterprets the famous original "Bleu Alpine." Up front, Renault added half-domed additional lamps with full LED yellow lighting, while the main impressive feature at the rear is the 3D rear window and the air intakes on each side that echo the ducts on the rear wheel arches. The doors feature a scissor motion and the entire body is made from carbon-fiber.

The concept is a two-seater model with the interior combining carbon-fiber elements with a pretty cool black paint. The driver’s seat features embroidered "Renault Alpine A 110-50" and comes equipped with Sabelt full harness belts and alternate, attractive shades of blue. The concept’s steering wheel comes with the same technology as a Formula Renault 3.5 single-seater and includes a colored screen.

The new A110-50 Concept was developed by Renault Sport Technologies, so naturally, there are a lot of racing components installed. It was developed on the Mega Megane Trophy race car platform , but the tubular chassis of the Renault Alpine A 110-50 was stiffened and underwent several developments.

The roll cage and bracing in the engine bay were modified (lowered) so the concept now delivers an almost ideal weight distribution: 47.8% over the front wheels. The wheelbase of the Renault Alpine Renault Alpine A 110-50 is identical to that of Megane Trophy (2,625mm), while the track is slightly wider at 1,680mm front and 1,690mm rear. The concept sits on a new set of 21" wheels combined with Sachs dampers that can be adjusted in compression and extension.

Under the hood of this impressive concept, there’s a 3.5 liter 24-valve V6 engine mounted in a mid-rear position. The engine delivers a total of 406 HP and is fitted with a semi-automatic six-speed sequential gearbox, as well as a twin-plate clutch that can be controlled using either the clutch pedal or a paddle on the steering wheel.

Melkus RS2000 GTS '06.jpg
Melkus is an artisan manufacturer based in Dresden (Germany). Founded in 1959 by the German driver Heinz Melkus, the manufacturer has produced a model, the RS1000 to its first closing in 1986. But in 2006, the son of Heinz Melkus, Sepp Melkus, decided to produce the replacement for the RS1000 which he called the RS2000, has developed the sports Gullwing on a base Lotus Elise.

The GTS will come with an adjustable suspension system, a lightweight bodykit and a high-performance braking system. It will also come with a number of high-end materials, including a carbon-fiber front spoiler and rear wing, a carbon-fiber diffuser, side guides, and an interior that also features a carbon fiber trim.

The 4-cylinder turbo now develops 350 hp instead of 300 hp. Sepp Melkus expects to reach 300 km/h with the new power and 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. As for the price, it is displayed to 149,900 euros.

SV 9 Competizione '09
SV 9 Competizione '09.jpg
By reworking a C6 Corvette, SV Motor Launches the SV 9 Competizione. The front and back are rather transalpine inspiration and more particularly the style of Milan but also from Modena halfway between Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione and Maserati Gran Turismo. The SV9 Competizione is actually the Corvette who plays 'Little Italy'.

Despite the emphasis on style, the company created useful airflow properties which channel air through the hood and rear ducts to increase brake and engine cooling. SVMC also went to work under the hood, where they added a revised air intake and a custom-tuned ANSA exhaust which is modeled after the Ferrari Daytona and 599 GTB. These modest tweaks create an additional 14 hp, which allows the SV 9 Competizione to be rated at 450 hp and 445 lb-ft of torque. The company estimated this will enable the SV 9 to rocket from 0-100 km/h in 4.0 seconds.

Other modifications include a specially tuned sports suspension, an enhanced braking system, and Pirelli P-Zero Rosso ultra performance tires.

Like a proper Italian exotic, the SV 9 features a luxurious interior with carbon fiber reinforced seats, Italian leather upholstery, and a choice of burlwood or carbon fiber trim. The weight is around 1400 kg.

Chrysler 200S Mopar '14
Chrysler 200S Mopar '14.jpg
The Chrysler 200 is a mid-size car produced by the American manufacturer Chrysler. The 200 name first appeared on a prototype hybrid vehicle shown at the 2009 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, called the 200C. The prototype was based on the Chrysler 300. While Chrysler's sales chief, Steven Landry, said it had been approved for production, CEO Sergio Marchionne later said it was not practical. The 200C concept was engineered to accept either a traditional gasoline engine, hybrid or electric powertrain.

The 2015 Chrysler 200 finally got its long-overdue update when Chrysler decided to introduce the revised model at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. It really couldn’t have come at a better time as a lot of people were getting tired of the old 200. Now, the 200S is getting the full Mopar blowout at the 2014 SEMA Auto Show.

The showpiece model didn’t get any peculiar colors or massive performance bumps, which might confuse some people because SEMA is usually associated with bombastic shades and outlandish engine modifications. Instead, Chrysler and Mopar opted for a more subdued, yet infinitely more realistic upgrade. There’s a new body kit somewhere in there, and while it’s not as obvious as those 19-inch matte-bronze wheels, Mopar also did a number on the 200S’ suspension system to help it in the corners.

The kit includes a new front splitter, new side sills, rear side-sill extensions, and a new rear valance. Another particularly interesting feature of the 200S Mopar is the new quad-exhaust-tip set, which is still in prototype stage. The car’s engine remains untouched, which means that the SEMA-bound 200S Mopar sported Chrysler’s 3.6-liter, Pentastar, V-6 engine that pumps out 295 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. This engine mates to a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Miura Sport '77
Miura Sport '77.jpg
Miura Automóveis was a Brazilian company founded in 1976 and defunct in 1992.

Their first car was a low coupe, relatively long and with aggressive lines built on the same platform of the Volkswagen 1600 -- a very limited base for an aspiring sports car but largely used during the 60's and 70's.

At a time of rounded shapes, its fiberglass body resorted to a straight style, clearly inspired by the Italian Lamborghini Urraco. Incidentally, the name - a race bullring, the fiercest - was also the same in another Lamborghini.

The headlights were hidden by retractable covers, coming down by the action of a vacuum device, driven by an electronic valve when the trigger button in the panel. Internally, the Miura Sport had a luxurious finish and innovations in the details. The three-spoke steering wheel was adjustable in height via electric control and also the pedals could be adjusted away from the bank, which today is still rare. The two seats were leather and the full panel included tachometer up to 7,000 rpm (although the maximum engine speed was only 4,600 rpm), voltmeter and oil pressure gauge. Air conditioning, electrically controlled windows and radio / cassette player were optional.

TRD FJ-S Cruiser '12
TRD FJ-S Cruiser '12.jpg
The Toyota FJ Cruiser is a retro style SUV with styling and off road performance reminiscent of the original Toyota FJ40 Land Cruisers. Introduced as a concept car at the January 2003 North American International Auto Show, the FJ Cruiser was approved for production after positive consumer response and debuted at the January 2005 North American International Auto Show in final production form. The FJ cruiser is built by Toyota subsidiary Hino Motors in Hamura, Japan since 2006 and shares many structural underpinnings from the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado.

At the 2012 SEMA Auto Show, TRD (Toyota Racing Development, the in-house tuning shop for Toyota-brand automobiles) presented their latest FJ mash-up, called the FJ-S Cruiser Concept.

Aesthetically, the FJ-S Cruiser Concept received a boatload of new modifications, including a new front nudge bar, rock rails, and a cat-back exhaust. Inside, the FJ-S Cruiser Concept was create to a two-tone leather interior with matching FJ-S logos on the headrests.

Under its hood, the FJ-S Cruiser Concept’s 4.0-liter V6 engine was given a TRD supercharger system with a Twin Vortex System and a large air-to-water intercooler. All this nets the off-roader with an increased output of 345 horsepower and 345 lb-ft of torque, numbers that represent a 30% and 25% increase from the stock model.

Carbontech Redback Spyder '06
Carbontech Redback Spyder '06.jpg
Carbontech is one of the small companies currently trying to make a splash in the market with their first car which was completed in 2006. The main difference between Carbontech and some other manufacturers, is that their models are sold as kit cars for the consumer to build and configure how they choose.

The race car inspired design of the Spyder is made and finished by hand. The process to create this body is very delicate and uses carbon Kevlar formed over the top of a heat proof core. The large rear wing is also made out of carbon fiber and has a built in brake light.

The inside of the Carbontech Spyder is all about racing. Two very supportive MOMO racing seats complete with 5-point harnesses sit ready and waiting to hold your body snug throughout the race. Aluminum and carbon fiber trim abound completing the sporty look and race car attitude of the Spyder. It does include one creature comfort which is a DVD and surround sound system set inside the custom dash.

The small and lightweight body sits on top of a semi-monocoque space frame that has been made flexible enough to use many different powertrain options. The factory tends to choose the LS1 V8 engine provided by Chevrolet. This engine is capable of making 450hp and 550 Nm of torque all the way up to its 6300rpm redline. The use of a quality six speed transmission provided by Getrag means increased reliability through proven components. The race car can really be seen when checking out the suspension. An fully inboard setup allows for the most variability during track days and increased performance in the bends.

RUF 3800S '13
RUF 3800S '13.jpg
The Ruf 3400S is a vehicle built by RUF Automobile of Germany on the Porsche Boxster platform from 1999. It was later updated to the 3600S with Porsche's newer 3.6 litre flat-six in place of the 3.4, and both were replaced by RK Coupe/Spyder, which are essentially based on the facelifted Boxster and Cayman. The 3800S, which is based on second-generation Boxster and Cayman, replaces the RK Coupe and continues the naming system of its predecessors. The engine is a 3.8-litre unit derived from the Porsche 991.

Although the 3800S is a Boxster S with a Carrera S Kraftwerk wedged between its hind legs, RUF also installs heavily modified front and rear bumpers, all-black wheels and bigger tires, stronger brakes, and tauter springs and dampers. The 3800S cannot be sold as a Porsche, so it's available with an extracost seven-speed RDK gearbox, carbon-ceramic RCCB brakes, and active suspension management dubbed RASM.

Bolwell Mk X Nagari '08
Image

The Bolwell Nagari is a sports car produced by Bolwell in Australia. The original Mk VIII Nagari was built from 1970 to 1974 and the Mk X Nagari was launched in 2008.

In late 2006 it was announced that the Bolwell company intended to produce a new, carbon fibre-bodied car under the 'Nagari' name. The Bolwell Nagari Mk X Nagari was launched in 2008. The new coupe Bolwell Nagari Mk X leaves aside the race car appearance of the original model, and adopts a rather style oriented large luxury tourism.

The prototype first appeared at the 2008 Melbourne International Motor Show and 2008 Sydney International Motor Show, it was powered by a supercharged 3.5 litre engine from a Toyota Aurion. It is a mid-engined two-seater coupé with a carbon-fibre tub, front and rear subframes and a carbon-reinforced composite body. Late-model Honda Integra tail-lights are used in the exterior.

The Mk X Nagari is a genetic cross between classic sports car of the 70s and modern version of the GT supercar design that features a complete and efficient aerodynamic kit including the underbody to improve high-speed stability.
