Ferrari 275 GTB/4 Competizione Speciale by Allegretti '67
Carrozzeria Allegretti '67.jpg
With the success of the 250 GTO in road racing events, the Ferrari factory looked to homologate a version of the new 275 GTB for the GT racing class. As the production car was not designed for competition, a group of special cars were built for that purpose. While they resembled the production 275 GTB, they were actually closer in design and components to the 250 GTO race cars. With aluminum alloy for the bodies and smaller diameter, lighter weight chassis tubes than the production cars, it was intended that they would be able to convince the FIA into thinking they were actually production models. These were the 275 GTB/C Speciales, three cars built by the Ferrari competition department. Each contained substantial differences in specification and design, and of the three ‘Speciales’ built, only chassis #06885 had a notable period competition history, the highlight of which was a win in the GT Class and Third Overall finish in the 1965 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Ferrari followed up with a series of competition versions of the road car for customers, called the 275 GTB/C. The first ten were alloy-bodied ‘short nose’ cars in 1965, and the next group of twelve ‘long nose’ cars followed a year later. These cars appeared identical to the road cars, their difference being the employment of light alloy panels for the bodywork, less sound proofing, a larger fuel tank, higher lift camshafts, and the fitting of six Weber carburetors. It was then somewhat surprising that when the four-cam engine was introduced in 1966 with the 275 GTB/4, no competition versions were built by the factory. Compared to the ‘series’ 275 GTB/C cars, the ‘Speciale,’ chassis 06885 in particular, stood apart and captured the imagination of Ferrari enthusiasts.

One such enthusiast was television producer Greg Garrison. A pioneer in the medium, having made his directorial debut in 1948, Garrison directed some of the most memorable programs of the fifties, including Your Show of Shows, The Milton Berle Show, The Kate Smith Hour, as well as one of the Nixon-Kennedy presidential debates. The show which made his name, and fortune, as a producer was The Dean Martin Show. It ran for nine seasons and then was followed by another seven years of The Dean Martin Roasts.

Garrison was as well known in many circles as a Ferrari connoisseur as he was as a TV producer. He forged an enduring personal relationship with Enzo Ferrari himself, dating from the mid-1950s. He told a story about their first meeting, at which Garrison’s teenaged son Michael was present. Ferrari remarked how much Michael resembled his own beloved Dino at the same age, further cementing the bond. Garrison went on to assemble an impressive group of one-off Ferraris, working closely with the factory and developing close ties with the company’s inner circles.

Those ties served him well when he began to contemplate a special project. In 1987, he located this car, 275 GTB/4 chassis 09813, in Indiana. The victim of an accident, it had a damaged chassis, and it had been stripped of its body, wiring loom, and seats. Garrison purchased the car and shipped it to Modena, where he commissioned three of the most famed Ferrari shops to rebuild and create the car he envisioned. First stop was Vaccari e Bosi, chassis supplier to the Ferrari factory, which, in six months of work, gave 09813 an as-new frame. During the year, it was required to wait for the artisans at Carrozzeria Allegretti to create a new body for the chassis, all the mechanical components, engine, transmission, rear axle, brakes, and more were rebuilt at the renowned Sport Auto.

What emerged from Allegretti was a brilliant rendering of the body of what is perhaps the most well-known and attractive 275 GTB/C Speciales, chassis 06885, the 1965 Le Mans car. Allegretti gave this car, chassis 09813, the distinctive 250 GTO-style nose and mesh-opening faced hood bulge give that gave the Speciale body a look of power and aggression quite distinct from the standard 275 GTB. The rear fenders show the triple vents and reshaped upper panels that were created to improve air flow at the rear of the Speciale, providing additional downforce.

As befitted to all of Greg Garrison’s cars, the level of workmanship was done to the highest standards, although, perhaps in this case, it might be said that the levels of fit and finish were taken beyond that which could be expected in a race car. Rather, 09813 has the feel of a competition car finished so that the team owner or lead driver could drive it to and from the circuit, as well as to dinner. That it is built on the base of the four-cam model gives this Ferrari even greater appeal, a glimpse into “what could have been,” had the factory chosen to continue down this road. It is intriguing to speculate that it may be one reason Garrison’s creation was so well received by Ferrari insiders.

The current owner purchased this Ferrari in 2007, and it has been sparingly used but superbly maintained since. The six Weber carburetors have been rebuilt and hoses have been replaced in order to keep it in top running condition. It has made few show outings, but was awarded Best in Show at the 2010 FCA Hartford Concorso Ferrari and First Place in the GT Class at the 2011 Sunday in the Park Concours at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut.

What separates this Ferrari from other re-bodies or re-constructions is its impeccable credentials and pedigree. Greg Garrison’s access to the shops and craftsmen most closely associated with Ferrari and with the company’s personnel, up to and including Enzo himself, allowed him to create a car not only well conceived and executed but equally well received within the inner sanctum of Ferrari itself. This beautifully realized dream, from the long-term ownership of a passionate long-time Ferrari lover, stands ready to excite and fulfill its next caretaker, who can share the vision Greg Garrison brought so vividly to life.

Faralli & Mazzanti Antas V8 '06
Faralli & Mazzanti Antas V8 '06.jpg
Mazzanti Automobili is an Italian company that operates in the automotive industry, producing handcrafted high performance cars. Founded in 2002 by Luca Mazzanti and Walter Faralli as Faralli & Mazzanti in Gello di Pontedera (PI). Born as a laboratory joining a workshops of restoration and a development center for supercars, it was splitted in two distinct realities in 2010: “Mazzanti Automobili” and “Faralli Restauri”. The brand Mazzanti Automobili got international exposure due to Mazzanti Evantra coupé, put (together with the company and the founder) in the archive and in the collection of the Museum of Tuscan Design (Mu.De.To).

The Antas V8 is the first “Berlinetta” (touring car) created in the F & M workshop. It is completely inspired by the philosophy and material used in the “special series” of the past: the body, for example, is made of aluminium and completely built by hand.

The Antas project is based on an in-depth study of the stylistic evolution of the Italian automobile of the first years of the 1930s to the end of the 1960s: The golden era in which elements of style were created and developed, and even today put their imprint on the most beautiful lines of automobiles of the world. Planning and construction was undertaken with the same philosophy of attention to the best traditions. The first drafts, in fact, were done on paper: Faralli first developed it in 1:1 scale, then traced the final lines, always rigorously drawn. Nothing was developed by computer; everything came from the heart, from the imagination and the capable hands of experts. From there, it went to the constructive part, and not even here were involved machines managed by computers.

The technical basis of this prototype derives directly from Italian grand touring cars of the 1960’s. The frame a steel box adequately reinforced and modified, on which was mounted the model of tubes and sheet metal structure supported on the hand-moulded aluminium frame welded individually to the various components.

The Antas V8 is driven by a powerful V8 MASERATI engine fed by carburettors and endowed with a pleasing elasticity of power, it develops 310 hp and has a displacement of 4,719 cm3. Combined with a manual 5-speed ZF, it propels the Antas V8 to 270 km/h.

Fisker Latigo CS V10 '07
Fisker Latigo CS V10 '07.jpg
Henrik Fisker (acclaimed former designer with Aston Martin and BMW) claims that his 330 km/h Latigo CS V10 is the world's fastest 4 seater coupe.

Fisker took the BMW M6 and enlarged the V10 to 5.6 litres. With the 'Performance Plus' pack, this liberates a healthy 655 bhp for a sub 4 sec 0-100 km/h. The Latigo's bodywork in reskinned in lightweight carbonfibre, while the interior benefits from a high quality retrim.

These cars costed a total of £150,000 - almost double the cost of the M6! Although this represents decent value compared to other similar conversions in this marker sector.

Just two cars were actually eventually produced, making it a very rare sight on the roads.

Audi e-tron Spyder '10
Audi e-tron Spyder '10.jpg
The Audi e-tron family is a series of electric and hybrid concept cars shown by Audi from 2009 onwards.

Shown at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, this Spyder is the fourth entry in Audi’s e-tron fest. This slinky roadster drives its rear wheels with a mid-mounted, extra-powerful version of Audi’s 3.0-liter turbo-diesel V-6; output is 295 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque thanks to the addition of a second turbocharger. Audi’s seven-speed dual-clutch transmission handles gearswaps. Things get more complicated, though, with a pair of electric motors powering the front axle. Electrical energy is stored in a 9.1-kWh lithium-ion battery up front, and the motors team up to make 86 hp and 260 lb-ft of immediate torque. The use of two motors instead of one allows for electric torque vectoring.

The styling is reminiscent of the rear-wheel-drive e-tron Detroit concept—it’s dimensionally only slightly longer and wider than that car.
Above the beltline, wraparound, frameless glass tapers toward the rear. The aluminum body panels are attached to a space frame constructed from a combination of aluminum and carbon fiber. Curb weight is claimed to be under 1500 kg.

This Fisker just shows how good a BMW M6 Coupe can look with some proper treatment. M6 was not pretty, this one is. Too bad only a few were made.
But i like it. BMW should have hired him. 8-)

Saab 9-3 Turbo X '07
Saab 9-3 Turbo X '07.jpg
The Saab 9-3 is a compact executive car produced by the Swedish automaker Saab Automobile.

The 9-3 is originally based on the GM2900 platform and subsequently changed to the GM Epsilon platform. Other vehicles based on the same platforms include the Opel Vectra and Cadillac BLS.

Saab celebrated three decades of leadership in turbocharging at the 2007 Frankfurt International Motor Show by launching the Saab 9-3 Turbo X. It was launched exactly 30 years after Saab surprised the automotive world at Frankfurt when it revealed its first turbocharged model. That set a trend other manufacturers were to follow. With this car, Saab unleashed turbo power for the first time through Saab XWD, a cutting edge all-wheel-drive system.

The powerhouse at the heart of the Turbo X is a 24-valve, 2.8-liter V6 turbo engine generating 400 Nm of torque between 2,150 and 4,500 rpm and maximum power of 280 hp at 5,500 rpm. The advanced specification includes a lightweight, all-aluminum construction with a 60-degree angle between the cylinder banks for perfect balance, variable inlet valve timing and twin-scroll turbocharging. It was offered with a choice of six-speed manual or automatic transmission.

G-Power G6M V10 Hurricane CS Ultimate '15
G-Power G6M V10 Hurricane CS Ultimate '15.jpg
G-Power unveiled a massively reworked BMW M6 (E63) which matches the horsepower output of the Bugatti Veyron.

It is G-Power's most powerful vehicle ever after the output of the 5.0-liter V10 engine has been bumped by a 494 HP and 280 lb-ft to a grand total of 1,001 HP at 8,000 rpm and 663.8 lb-ft at 6,000 rpm. The additional oomph was obtained after installing a twin supercharger system and a titanium exhaust system. Thanks to this gigantic power hike, the car can now reach a top speed of 370 km/.

The custom body kit has been manufactured from carbon fiber while the stopping power is now provided by ceramic brakes with 400mm discs hiding behind the tuner's 21-inch HURRICANE RR forged alloy wheels. This particular car also has a coilover suspension equipped with a Nürburgring setup and there's also a bespoke interior cabin with an LED light bar, Alcantara-covered surfaces, ultra-light race-style seats with carbon fiber backs along with a new speedometer going all the way up to 400 km/h.

Rimac Automobili is a Croatian company that develops and produces high-performance electric vehicles, drivetrain and battery systems. Rimac Automobili's first model, the Concept One, is known as the world's fastest production electric vehicle

The Rimac Concept_One's body is made from exposed carbon, that not only indicates its production technology and materials, but also help the car to keep a very low weight.

The bodyside features a unique, symmetrical appearing feature that gives the car a strong identity and clear distinction, while the duct is the abstraction of the tie, that is an original Croatian product.

The concept’s interior is the work of the leather-specialists Vilner. They have developed a driver-focused interior, with the cabin tailors designed around the driver, while the high-end infotainment system keeps the driver entertained and informed about the vehicle’s systems.

The Concept_One uses a unique powertrain divided into the front and rear sub-system, each of them including two symmetrical motor-controller-reduction-gearbox units. This system will control each wheel independently. This system develops a total of 1,088 HP and 1080.1 ft-lb of torque and will sprint the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 2,8 seconds, while top speed has been limited to 305 km/h.

Maybach Exelero '04
Maybach Exelero '04.jpg
The Maybach Exelero is a high-performance unique sports car built in 2004.

Just imagine an automobile that combines the elegance and first-class quality of a high-end limousine with the powerful suppleness of a sports coupé. Create a vehicle in your mind’s eye which, with an unladen weight of over 2.66 tons and the dimensions of a small transporter, achieves a maximum speed of over 350 km/h. Conceive an ultra-high performance tire which not only copes with the aforementioned weight, the dimensions and the speed, but also makes the automobile safe, stable and comfortable. Such a vehicle and such tires do not exist? Yes it does.

The Maybach Exelero is a high-performance unique sports car. It's Maybach's most expensive car with the price of about $8 million. The 700 hp (522 kW) two-seater with a twin turbo V12 engine is a one-off design built on request for Fulda Tires. Mogul Arnaud Massartic was the owner until rapper Birdman bought it. The German luxury car manufacturer created the model as a modern interpretation of its legendary streamlined sportscar from the 1930s. There are various allusions to the historical predecessor, which was likewise based on a powerful Maybach automobile. In this case, the Maybach SW 38 was also used by Fulda for tire testing. The car is also famous for being portrayed in one of the episodes of long-running German show; Cobra 11.

Jay-Z featured the car in the music video for "Lost One".
