Nissan GT-R NISMO '14
Nissan GT-R NISMO '14.jpg
The R35 GT-R released in 2007 continued to undergo improvement after its initial debut, the developers meticulously honing its performance to make it even faster. The 2014 Nissan GT-R NISMO is a car that is the culmination of all their effort.

The 2014 model GT-R already has been reinforced body and other chassis improvements, but the Nissan GT-R NISMO goes one step further with structural adhesives added in addition to the standard sport welding; a tuning procedure that is not possible to add in aftermarket tuning. Furthermore it is given a variety of carbon fiber parts to maximize aerodynamic performance such as the bumper, rear spoiler, side sill covers, and under chassis covers. As a result, at 300 km/h the car produces an additional 100 kg of downforce compared to the precious model, and the variation of contact loads on the 4 wheels was further reduced. Nothing has been overlooked.

The suspension is a specially designed Bilstein Damp Tronic damper, with special upper links in the front, and a newly introduced hollow rear stabilizer for improving cornering performance.

The VR38DETT utilizes the same turbos as a GT3 racer, and with its specially developed injectors the car now produces 591 HP and 480.9 ft-lb of torque.

The Nissan GT-R NISMO was driven by Michael Krumm on the Nürburgring in September 2013, prior to its official announcement. It achieved a lap time of 7 minutes 8.679 seconds, resetting the world record for the fastest production car on this track.

Lincoln Continental Mark III '70
Lincoln Continental Mark III '70 side.jpg
The Lincoln Continental Mark III is a personal luxury car of the Lincoln Mark series, that was produced by Lincoln and sold in North America in the 1969 through 1971 model years.

The Mark III was created when Lee Iacocca, president of Ford Motor Company at the time, directed Design Vice President, Gene Bordinat, to "put a Rolls Royce grille on a Thunderbird" in September 1965. The Mark III was based on the four-door Thunderbird model, which was first introduced for 1967. Iacocca wanted to put the Thunderbird's development investment to better use than just the Thunderbird model alone, which "was dying in the marketplace." Instead, Ford would use that investment as a platform for several models.

Intended to compete head-to-head with Cadillac's heavily redesigned front wheel drive Eldorado, the Mark III made its debut a clear notch above less expensive, less well-appointed personal luxury cars such as the Ford Thunderbird, Buick Riviera and Oldsmobile Toronado. As the Eldorado was built upon the Toronado frame, so the Mark III was the Thunderbird's.

The Lincoln Continental Mark III is a coupé with 2 doors and a front mounted powerplant which transmits its power through the rear wheels. The Lincoln Continental Mark III's engine is a naturally aspirated petrol, 7.5 litre, overhead valve 90 degree V 8 cylinder with 2 valves per cylinder. It develops 370 hp of power at 4600 rpm, and maximum torque of 678 N·m (500 lb·ft/69.1 kgm) at 2800 rpm.

Lamborghini Urraco P300 '73
Lamborghini Urraco P300 '73.jpg
The Lamborghini Urraco is a 2+2 sports car manufactured by Italian automaker Lamborghini. It was introduced at the Turin Auto Show in 1970 but was not put on sale until 1973. It was named after a breed of bulls. The car is a 2+2 coupé with body designed by Marcello Gandini, at the time working for Carrozzeria Bertone. Rather than being another supercar, like the Lamborghini Miura, the Urraco was more affordable, an alternative to the contemporary Ferrari Dino and Maserati Merak.

When production ceased in 1979, 791 Urracos had been built. Twenty-one of these were Urraco P111 (P250 Tipo 111) for the American market. In order to comply with American regulations, these cars had larger front bumpers and emissions controls, the latter resulting in less horsepower for the American version. The other Urraco versions were the Urraco P200, Urraco P250 and Urraco P300 with 2 litre, 2.5 litre, and 3 litre V-8 respectively.

Both the Lamborghini Silhouette, with its detachable roof panel, and its successor Lamborghini Jalpa, with a 3.5 litre V-8 engine, were based upon the Urraco.

Ferrari Testarossa Special H17 TRS '96
Ferrari Testarossa Special H17 TRS '96.jpg
How many different models Ferrari has produced since the beginning, hundreds? Well, it's quite challenging to know them all and it's always a surprise to surf the internet and find some Prancing Horses that are unknown to most enthusiasts.

I'm a great lover of one-off Ferraris and today I show you the Ferrari Testarossa H17 TRS, a unique Prancing Horse based on a Testarossa made for Bob Houghton, owner of an important Ferrari workshop in United Kingdom.

The owner took part to the realization and most of the parts have been designed by himself with clue styles taken also from the 512S, 360, F355 and F40. The engine of the Special H17 TRS is the same 4.9L flat 12 with 428 hp that we find on the 512TR but overall the Special is 100kg lighter than the TR thanks to the body formed in alloy.

Also the interior is very custom, the only element we know are the seats taken from a Ferrari 550M, all the other components have been realized just for this model.

Being owner of a one-off Ferrari is a privilege given just to the special customers of the brand; over the years Ferrari hasn't produced many one-offs, some of the latest and popular creations we might remember are the Ferrari SP 12EC (based on the 458) made for Eric Clapton, the P4/5 (based on the Enzo) for James Glickenhaus and so on.

HKS CT230R '06
HKS CT230R '08.jpg
Japan's finest and most flamboyant tuners gather every year at the Tokyo Auto Salon, a car show that's known as much for its striking race queens as its souped-up cars.

In 2007, Gran Turismo's Best of Show award went to the Mitsubishi HKS CT230R. Selected for being "a very Japanese, refined machine that aims for high-speed perfection," this Mitsubishi Evo-based racer has broken a number of records at numerous Japanese racing circuits.

The HKS CT230R's high-speed pedigree was first established on April 2, 2006 when it recorded a lap time of 55.063 seconds at the Tsukuba Circuit, located just outside Tokyo. It then went on to set a time of 1 minute 42.374 seconds at the Fuji Speedway, and by the middle of that summer, it broke the lap records at Tokachi Circuit, Central Circuit (Hyogo Prefecture), Okayama International, Sugo (Miyagi prefecture) and Suzuka Circuit (Mie Prefecture).

In a triumphant, historical time attack for the ages, it recorded and unprecedented 53.999 second lap at the Tsukuba circuit on December 5, 2006, then broke that record with a blistering 53.589-second run on January 26, 2007. Based on the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII, the majority of parts for this particular Evo's 4G63 2.0-liter engine were swapped for HKS components, while displacement was increased to 2.3 liters.

It made further power gains with the addition of HKS's next-generation GT3240 turbo, raising output to an astounding 555 HP and 470.1 ft-lb. Most of the body panels were replaced with those made from carbon-fiber, helping to reduce the vehicle's weight to less than 1100 kg.

Vangest JH12 by Grandesign '12
Vangest JH12 by Grandesign '12.jpg
The Vangest JH12 by Grandesign was born of the combined desire of Carlos Oliveira, president of the Vangest group and longtime off-road race driver, and João Ornelas, managing director of Grandesign, to replace the old Mitsubishi Pajero with which Carlos Oliveira ended 25th place in the 2003 Paris-Dakar rally, with a demonstrator of the Vangest group’s extended expertise in automotive design, engineering and product development.

Thus was born the project of a new off-road racecar, to prove its worth by racing in Portugal’s Off-road Championship. The project explored the available synergies between the 14 Vangest group companies, where the existing technological resources - like 3D-simulation tools that were key to optimize the vehicle’s characteristics and speed the whole development process.

"With MSC Nastran software, it was possible to simulate the Vangest by JH12 Grandesign’s aerodynamic performance, with very good downforce results at the rear, and in the mechanical components cooling management" refers Carlos Oliveira, who stresses that the project displays and proves the competence of Vangest specialized companies: "one of the main reasons for this project is to show our skills in automotive design and engineering".

With composite bodywork designed by Grandesign - the design company of the Vangest group - the Vangest JH12 bY Grandesign is a 4X4 racing car with a 280 hp BMW 3.0 biturbo diesel engine and steel spaceframe chassis, a real demonstrator of the extended capabilities of the Vangest group, to be put to the test in the national off-road championship.

"In today's technology and marketing-led motor racing, off-road racing is one of the last motorsports where racecars can still be independently designed and built," says João Ornelas, managing director of Grandesign.

HKS is one of the few tuning companies I actually like, they're almost my favorite one, only Abflug/Pentroof gets my attention more than HKS.

Ford Super Stallion '98
Ford Super Stallion '98.jpg
The Super Stallion Mustang is a factory-performance showcase for the Specialty Equipment Manufacturer's Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Ford Super Stallion was carefully assembled by Ford's elite SVE team, working in a small, secretive hideaway on the gritty outskirts of Dearborn, Michigan. The enthusiastic designers and engineers created the fire-breather to start a tremor, and perhaps send a trickle of fear-scented sweat, down the collective spines of sports car builders worldwide.

Although easily as powerful and technically sophisticated as many pure-blood race machines, this is not a one-off, tube-frame toy destined to bash fenders on an oval, fry a quarter mile of asphalt for an endless summer, or bend a thousand high-g corners at some road course in Europe. Rather, the Super Stallion is the street-legal Mustang that Ford Engineering would uncork for American highways-if Ford corporate sights ever locked onto competitive targets like the Dodge Viper GTS, Chevrolet Corvette and the Porsche Turbo S.

Running on alcohol or gasoline the Super Stallion was capable of producing 590 hp. Modified cylinder heads, twin throttle bodies and a Garett supercharger help the car achieve the 590 hp when using alcohol.
