Ferrari 250 GTO/64 Pininfarina Coupe '64
Ferrari 250 GTO-64 Pininfarina Coupe '64.jpg
The Ferrari 250 GTO is a racing GT car which was produced by Ferrari from 1962 to 1964 for homologation into the FIA's Group 3 Grand Touring Car category. All of the 36 cars produced from 1962 to 1964 have survived and are accounted for, and most remarkably the history of every example is well documented. The first GTO was completed in 1962, having a body sculpted in-house and later revised by Scaglietti. In 1963 steps were made to improve the car, which included an all-new, Pininfarina-designed body. Sometimes referred to as the Series II or GTO/64, only three examples originally received the new body.

The newly unveiled GTO/64 was quickly met with criticism from competitors and journalists around the world. They couldn't believe that the new racer derived from the 1962 model, but instead were convinced it was a new car. Some called it a 'Testa Rossa with a roof'. Ferrari however, were confident with the legality of the new car. Every change was approved of separately, which should make homologation a small formality. Both parties were somewhat right; the GTO/64 was so different from the previous design that it could easily be considered a new car, but Ferrari's careful planning paid off with the awarded homologation. In a similar situation both the Jaguar E-Type Lightweight and Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato were homologated, despite the rather large departure from their original road car designs.

The engine for the GTO/64 retained the familiar Tipo 168/62 V12. Slight modifications included different tuning for the Weber carburetors and smaller exhaust manifolds. Such modifications did not improve peak power, but widened the overall power band.

After being forced to use the GTO, Ferrari had the body re-engineered by Pininfarina and produced by Scaglietti. The new Pininfarina design was both lower and wider than the original GTO. While this may have improved handling, the shortened frontal area caused more drag than the original GTO.

Radical RXC Turbo 500 '15
Radical RXC Turbo 500 '15.jpg
Radical Sportscars is a British manufacturer and constructor of racing cars. The company was founded in January 1997 by amateur drivers and engineers Mick Hyde and Phil Abbott, who built open-cockpit sportscars which could be registered for road use and run on a track without modification. Although most of Radical's sportscars are road legal, they also build some purpose-built racing cars, such as the SR9 Le Mans prototype.

Introduced in late 2012, the RXC Coupe arrived to give Radical Sportscars a road-legal car (in some countries) that had a roof to keep the elements out. Additionally, it arrived with optional air conditioning, carpeting, and more goodies to make road travel a little more comfortable. The Radical RXC Turbo 500 was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show 2015. The British closed-roof sportscar is hoping to become the fastest road legal car to lap the Nürburgring, the RXC Turbo 500 is Radical’s fastest, most track-focused car to date.

The RXC Turbo 500 is the culmination of five years’ development to create a road-legal track car unlike any other. The latest engine management and forced induction technology has been utilised to raise the performance bar even higher, with the new model delivering over 530 hp at 6,100 rpm and 481 ft-lb of torque at 5,000 rpm, endowing the car with a power-to-weight ratio of over 462 hp per tonne.

Bucci Special '13
Bucci Special '13.jpg
The Bucci Special, which made its debut at the 2013 Buenos Aires Auto Show, is the dream of the late Argentinian Formula One driver Clemar Bucci. Bucci is a racer in the golden era of Juan Manuel Fangio, Argentina’s legendary F1 racer that used to be behind the wheel of a Ferrari. He started to work on the car in 2011 but passed away before it was completed.

It's Clemar Bucci's nephew, namely Paul Bucci who took the initiative to continue the project until it actually happened. The design is quite futuristic with the concept of a very low windshield. The performance is otherworldly, those massive side vents feed a 7.3-liter V12 built by Mercedes-Benz’s AMG performance division. It’s the same engine used in the Pagani Zonda, and Pagani is rumored to have supplied the Bucci’s transmission as well.

Sbarro Robur '88
Sbarro Robur '88.jpg
Cyril De Rouvre, a wealthy French industrialist specialized in aviation, commissioned Franco Sbarro a small town car, compact, capable of traveling at slow speed in traffic jams, but with enough resources to stand up to the best sports the time.

The mechanism chosen by Sbarro is that of an Audi 200 turbo: a 5-cylinder engine, centrally positioned rear, and developing 200 horsepower. The car is intended primarily to urban traffic, the gearbox is 4-speed automatic. The suspensions are McPherson type with lower triangles high base. Braking is provided by four discs, assisted by a spoiler.

The interior is luxurious: white leather, red carpet, hi-fi high-tech. The seats seem to be an integral part of the car and it fits into the Sbarro's style. The exterior has a feeling of power, accentuated by the short length of the car (3.30 m) and wide. There are design details typically Sbarro, the front and rear lights obscured by a horizontal grid.

Finally, the car is named after its owner. Robur in Latin means Rouvre.

Ferrari 458 Spider '11
Ferrari 458 Spider '11.jpg
The Ferrari 458 Italia is a mid-engined sports car produced by the Italian sports car manufacturer Ferrari. The 458 replaced the Ferrari F430, and was first officially unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. The 458 Spider was premiered at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. This convertible variant of the 458 Italia features an aluminium retractable hardtop which, according to Ferrari, weighs 25 kilograms (55 lb) less than a soft roof such as the one found on the Ferrari F430 Spider, and can be opened in 14 seconds.

The front of the 458 Spider remained largely untouched, but the rear was given a few tweaks to work well with the car’s new aerodynamic set-up, specifically in the optimization of air flow towards the cooling ducts, oil cooler, and gearbox. There’s also the addition of an adjustable wind deflector, which has been designed in such a way that the wind doesn’t interfere with the interior cabin of the supercar, making conversations between driver and passenger less of a hassle than it would have been. In addition to the exterior engineering of the 458 Italia Spider, Ferrari also adjusted the supercar’s engine mapping and suspension damping, as well as re-tuning the engine sound to ensure optimal performance capabilities without compromising the ride experience of the car.

The 458 is powered by a 4,499 cc (274.5 cu in) V8 engine of the "Ferrari/Maserati" F136 engine family, producing 570 horsepower at 9,000 rpm and 398 lb/ft of torque at 6,000 rpm mated to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission and electronic differential.

Edra GT-R '03
Edra GT-R '03.png
The Edra was a vehicle produced by the Brazilian aeronautic group also known as "Edra". It was a sport compact with a mid-mounted VW engine, its chassis was made of light materials such as kevlar and carbon-fiber while the body was made of reinforced fiberglass.

Two versions of the car were available, the GT with VW 1.8 of 180 HP, and the GT-R with a VW 2.0 turbo and its output of 225 HP. The GT weighed around 850 kilos while the GT-R weighed around 750 kilos. The Edra GT was capable of a 0-100 km/h time of 6.2sec while the GT-R was of 5.2sec. The vehicles had ventilated disc brakes at the front and solid at the rear.

Information about the interior is scarce, but from the only picture available in the internet it's possible to see it was of high quality. Only a few of these cars were produced before Edra gave up on the project.

Audi A3 Clubsport quattro '14
Audi A3 Clubsport quattro '14.jpg
Audi A3 Clubsport quattro is a concept car unveiled in 2014. Based on the Audi S3 Sedan, it is an approach by Audi to address performance.

A distinctive element at the front of the show car is the continuous blade of exposed CFRP below the Singleframe grille. Like the winglets on a model airplane, its ends are bent upward to structure the large air inlets framed in massive edges. As with a race car, a splitter at the bottom of the front skirt increases the downforce on the front axle. The side section features a high belt line that extends from the wheel all the way to the rear sidewall, giving the concept that muscular look that’s important for a car being packaged as a high-performance RS model.

The Audi A3 Clubsport quattro concept is powered by a 2.5-liter TFSI turbocharged engine that produces 525 horsepower and 600 newton meters of torque while mated to a seven‑speed S tronic transmission. Beyond the obvious power numbers, the A3 Clubsport quattro concept defines itself by weighing just 1527 kg. The car also has been lowered by 0.4 inches compared to an S3 Sedan, allowing it to be more adaptive and responsive.

Piper GT P2 '71
Piper GT P2 '71.jpg
Piper Cars was a United Kingdom manufacturer of specialist sports cars (an associate company of a camshaft and engine tuning parts manufacturer of the same name). The company was initially based in Hayes, then in Kent, with production taking place from 1968 at Wokingham, Berkshire and from 1973 at South Willingham, Lincolnshire.

The first Piper GT road model to a design by Tony Hilder, was introduced at the January 1967 Racing Car Show and immediately afterwards entered production as a body/chassis unit for home completion. The front engine rear drive tubular steel chassis using Triumph Herald front suspension and Ford rear axle components could accommodate a variety of engines. Problems with the first few produced caused further production to be delayed until the following year when a substantially better developed version was introduced and became known as the GTT.

At the same time, a mid-engined Group 6 racing car, the GTR, was being developed but only a handful were produced before this was abandoned following the death of company owner Brian Sherwood in late 1969. The GTR was only 30 inches high, and had a drag co-efficient of only 0.28. Designer Hilder achieved this by moving all the mechanical parts, such as the water and oil radiators to the rear of the car. The car was entered for the 1969 Le Mans 24 Hours Race, but overheating problems and the failure of driver John Burton to record a qualifying time meant that the car did not start the race.

Two employees, Bill Atkinson and Tony Waller, took over the company renaming it Emmbrook Engineering, ceased all racing activity and focused on improving the road cars. In 1971 this led to a further revision known as the Piper P2 (sometimes also called the GT P2) with many improvements to chassis, body and interior design. This model continued in production until the mid-1970s. Estimates of total Piper production vary from around 80 (Piper Sports and Racing Car Club) to somewhere over 100.

Piper? I don't know why but the name sounds pretty cool to me.

I love the design of the car but I feel like they could have done better with those side windows, still looks like a fun car to drive despite of this.
