Sorry everyone I had to a re-install from a 3 day old backup so all posts since then are lost.
I can only apologise for the lost posts and will make more regular backups from now on
The problem was caused by a mod I installed to re-size the photos on the forum, it did not install correctly and broke the posting page,
I tried all sorts of ways to fix it but it messed up to many files so I had no option to install from a backup.
Thanks Bez

Well at least the forum is still here.
When I visited it yesterday and saw the experiencing problems and "will be back ASAP" I thought... here we go again..
Thanks for the notice.

I'm a code whizz
Most times (like 99% of the time) you can get rid of the issue by going into the database and just change the value.

Well it's not fun, but I guess it could been worse .... however I urge to take more backups though ... certainly before implementing new stuff in case it goes wrong again.
IF IN DOUBT .... FLAT OUT

Hey, if Atari did what you did, they would take years to fix it, where you took like a day or so.Bezrider wrote:Sorry everyone I had to a re-install from a 3 day old backup so all posts since then are lost.

You tackled the problem in just 3 days. I know a "Professional" company that is struggling for 3 months now and does not give any news at all.
Too bad about the lost posts. Only a few days.
PS PM's are gone too. I had a few important ones

Here we go again with the "I'm a self confessed expert", self promotion posts!
Any way no big deal I'm sure we'll survive with a few missing posts, and like others have said you sorted it pretty quick!

Once again I can only apologise for the loss of posts and PM's
Unfortunately when the MOD un-installed its self it took out lines of code from a lot of key folders and was supposed to replace them with the old code, it did not and that's what caused the problem.
It may of been possible to rebuild the code line buy line but it would of taken days of down time and work replacing the missing lines so I took the decision to install a backup.
I did not take this decision lightly as I have been on days changing code to get the new templates to work, and now all that is gone and I will have to start over
Sorry Guys
