AMD need the money. They need serious investments in R&D to keep up with Intel and Nvidia and also small ingetrated chips and hardware.
Question remains; should Microsoft, a software specialist, take over AMD or extend their take in the company?
It might be a smart move. AMD does make the chips for both PS4 and XB1. But will Sony continue to use AMD as their chipbaker of choice when M$ takes over?
Tablets with integrated systems, TV boxes, new consoles, surface tablets and many more products, like mobile stuff (Zen) and servers can benefit from AMD if they get the juice.
