Believe it or not, but there are rumors Nvidia will launch Volta (Pascal successor) next year already.

I personally do not believe that. It would imply that Pascal will only rule Nvidia GFX for a single year, and we all saw the spreadsheats, showing the development costs.
Also Volta was rumored to get 10nm treatment. If it will be released next year, that procede will not be ready yet. So it will be built on the same 16nm finfet as Pascal.
According to some, Pascal is an "improved Maxwell", with additional features and a die shrink, but Volta will be the next level real new architecture.
If this is true or not, it would be interesting what Nvidia's anwers will be on the HBM2 Vega that will be released next year.

Where is smoke, there is fire.

PS Nvidia needs some competition from team RED. Their recent price scam only proves that. :twocents-02cents:
