Intel caught cheating in security checks

Post by Beardroid91 » Wed Jan 03, 2018 6:07 pm

Intel has been caught cheating for years about not running security checks, checks that AMD has been running all along, and Intel somehow just bypassed to make their CPU's faster, and now Intel CPU's from the last decade is effected, and might be 30% slower now with the new patch for it, so Intel really screwed up...

I have a i7 4790K now i feel cheated, i mean i could see why Apple would slow my iPhone 6 to protect it's hardware, but what Intel has been doing is misrepentisation of their products and now i hope every Intel CPU owner who has an effected CPU is able to get some kind of cash back, as Intel's shit isn't worth the money anymore.

Yet another nail in the coffin for Intel, and people thought AMD wasn't good all this time.

So, maybe these checks were not needed to run your PC and Intel knew that?

MS is most likely screwing consumers again. Just buy their Shop approved stuff and you will be fine

But Intel is placed under a magnifying glass now. Thanks to the competition.

PS It is more likely that certain 3 letter organisations have been using these exploits until now. And as these are discovered by others, they are patched and the same .org have been moving on to other exploits.
BTW; these exploits are placed there by design and on purpose. People who make CPU are too clever to oversee that. Both Intel and MS have US Gov personell, who guides them in making certain aspects "accessible". Nothing new there. It has always been like that.
The blame game is just a cover up. Scapegoats will be sacrificed and it is business as usual again.
And if you do not believe that, just think for yourself what is the most logical solution. Even if it is inappropriate or clandestine to do so, spy orgs have no morals. The end justifies the means.

PPS I do hope the hibernation did you good. But i will lock the DT fridge, so you can not steal all the honey again. :loll:

It is not so much the fact it is there, it is the fact that they'll now slow down the CPU by up 30%, so i blame Intel 100%, and if the US government did make backdoors then that is an invasion of privacy on so many levels that someone would have to be burn on a pike.

And hey Luny, i have been here, just haven't been posting anything, as i'm taking a break from The Crew again as playing TC2 made me see just how bad The Crew really is.

It is not just the US, China also incorporates access points in chipsets and controllers.

There was an interview with a corporate cyber security official, who said you needed a 7 layer firewall to get rid off most spying eyes from Governments all over the world form your network.

And then there is still the software thing as well.... :eeek:`

Intel's response states that these exploits do not only affect their products.

So, they do not deny, but divert. At least they try. Something fishy is going on here for sure. :geek:

PS Cloud computing is mentioned specifically as vulnerable. Why am i not surprised? Everything on the cloud, right?

I read all of the article about it, it would seem pc gamers isn't effected as much as feared, but more about Intels servers that are taking a massive hit, but then again Intel brought it on themselves, but AMD must be be .. oh YES!!! .. as they are going to gain a marked share advantage on the server side now.

But now i want to wait and see how the lastest Win 10 update is going to effect my system, and save my rage for those bench marks.

Intel doesn't give a shit about it's customers:
Contrary to some reports, any performance impacts are workload-dependent, and, for the average computer user, should not be significant and will be mitigated over time.
Mitigated over time, are you serious right now Intel, this issue goes back 10+ years, and effect 100's millions of Intel CPU buyers and you just say tough love, you'll not notice performance drops after a while.... Fuck 'em, next time i'm upgrading i'm going AMD, and not returning to Intel before they start to treat their customers better.

Okay it would appear it isn't as big of an issue as many feared it could have been.

I am working as IT security specialist in our local hospital and I will do everything that our data is in local servers and nothing is stored to cloud. I will not have any personal data in cloud also. I dont trust any of them.
