So i came across this thing and i have to say
if they can deliver it for that price it might be worth it to switch wheels sooner then i thought

Also... Does anybody else swip the lightbulbs to oblivion every time they renew or is that just me :shifty:

This complete set for under 400$. :eeek:

Sounds indeed too good to be true. And using a desk and chair on wheels is not a good sign of strength either.
Still a very interesting project, that deserves some attention.

Direct drive and load cell pedals will easily set you back double that amount.

PS We have our minions changing lightbulbs all day. :loll:

Yeah it does, but some things to point out in regards to the very low price.
The engine they use is a weak 1 at 10 nm of torque witch is about a fifth of most OSW/ DD wheels
but even with that and a few other points it's still a very good looking deal coming with a not
that bad version of a pedal set with loadcell.

I'll be keeping a eye on this to find out what spec's the whole thing has and such, so far it doesn look bad imo

Looks like an interesting setup.

It's been in development for two years and will launch in February 2018, also the $388 price tag is an introductory price for early buyers once it is launched it will sell for $770 retail price. ;)

I can deal with the $770 price tag just fine if it's launched
but i want to know the spec's and see a trusted review on it
before i pull the trigger on a DD wheel.
my current wheel setup already cost more then my pc did lol

You might checkout these pedals. I doubt the wheelhub will be better than Thrustmaster.
Add to that the limited game support and cheap wheels.

Full metal built pedals with loadcell brakes and adjustable parts are just awesome for just 99$. Even if they are only 30kg load cells.

Just got a reply email from them with some Q&A. ;)

Hi!

Thank you guys for your comments and emails - we’ve got tons of them. We truly appreciate the time you took to contact us. We are also dazzled by the scale of the feedback. All of it happened so suddenly that we’ve made some of you wait for a response. Our apologies.
Thus, here is the Q&A session with our answers and thoughts on topics you’re most interested in:

Q: Tell me more about the technical specifications
A: Regarding tech specs, since we are still tweaking/optimizing the device, the numbers can change to some degree. We’ll publish them when we’re ready to launch. In general, we can say that the torque is roughly 7 times greater than that of the G27, T500 and the like.

Q: How do I buy it?
A: We intend to launch the product at the beginning of 2018. We will announce the launch date via mail and social networks.

Q: Why do you have such an affordable price?
A: The reason for the affordable price is affordability and emerging of the components (like strong neodymium magnets), falling costs of electronic components, and highly optimized in price design. We have built everything from the ground up with affordability in mind. This also are highly discounted prices for guys who will support us on the way to launching the product. The retail price will be higher. Price discounts will be available during a limited-quantity flash sale event following the launch.

Q: Are you planning to deliver the product to my country?
A: We're working on making it possible to deliver worldwide. More information will be available shortly. We’re going to establish warehouses in the US, Europe, and various geographical regions (depends on orders).

Q: It seems too good to be true
A: Well, we understand your concerns. Hopefully, we will soon have video reviews by enthusiastic/professional sim-racers. This will be the best way to show that our product meets your expectations.

So, what they basically say, is that all the other DD Wheel manufacturers are overcharging and milking the magic.

7x the torque of a T500 is ridiculous and can break your thumbs. But max torque is only an indication. Refinement is what we are looking for in a good wheelhub. And support in a truckload of games. Not just the usual sims. And that is time consuming. Generic X support won't be an issue. The way FFB is applied is key.

If they can add a universal adapter, so you can mount a wide variety of wheels, it will be a bomb.

The 400$ is almost like a crowdfunding initiative. :geek:

Just got this:
Beta-Testers WANTED!
unnamed.jpg
As we said earlier, we are getting ready for the roadshow in Europe and the US before our launch.

We expect to hit the road in March, and we plan to do one-day Direct Drive Wheel and Pedals test drives in large cities.

In order to understand which cities we should visit we ask all those interested in participating to fill out this short Google Form:

Feel VR Beta Tester Application

And, please, share this news with all your friends. This is important because our decision to go (or not to go) to a certain city will be based on statistics and the number of applicants.

So, spread the word and get ready to put the pedal to the metal!
