Is Eden (the trademark) still owned by Atari? Because I thought that they completely dissolved the company, but does that mean Eden can just resurrect itself as an independent developer? If so, I would love to see them put some real, unrestricted effort into making a third Test Drive Unlimited!

It appears that Nadal has taken control of that name again. If it also involves the rights to TD remains to be seen. But their fast restart would point to that direction IMO. It will be a lot easier to get some financial backing with a strong brand name behind it. And they are the creators of TDU.
A lot of confusing signals as Atari recently stated they would continue with TDU. Must be a French thing i suppose :laughing-rolling:

all these other games are all trying for the same market, The Crew is going to be alone with no competition.

if Eden really is back in business, they are the only ones that have a chance against Ivory Tower and The Crew. fix TDU2 and they will have a chance.

They are recruiting

For the game development of a sport car game, EDEN GAMES is recruiting an:

3D Art Director (f/m)

Within our development team you will be in charge of the art direction of our projects.

You will be also responsible for the 3D assets production (designing, modeling and texturing) and their integration into the game (lighting).

Online Cloud Programmer (f/m)

Within our development team you will be in charge of our online technology based on Google App Engine cloud (GAE).

You will be responsible for the game server (Accounts, friends, ranking, billing, asset storage, …).
So is TDU3 back on track? Or will Eden turn to making games for smartphones.

We will follow the Eden Studio adventures with great interest.

PS If you watch the "slideshow" in the background you will see some Ferraris, including an F50 parked next to a Lamborghini :eeek:

I saw the job postings last week on the Eden's site and was curious about the direction of this project as well. We know that Atari still owns the TDU IP after it's failed auction and I question what the relationship would be like between Atari and Eden's new studio after what happened with TDU2.

One this is for sure, they are making a racing/driving game with heavy emphasis on a social features. If it will it be TDU3 or a new game is anyone's guess.

This gave me some doubts about the game:

Could it be a java/flash based game?

Found this on Eurogamerfr dated Monday July 7th:
