Thanks MM
Maybe this one is even better. Has similar features and is right on price target

Well I finally got around to buying a tablet :)
I took the chance and bought an unbranded one from China (although it had been imported into the UK before I purchased it)
Picked it up on eBay for £158, a good price I think for a 9.7 inch 2048*1536 Pixels 4:3 Retina Screen. Still checking it out but so far everything looks good and the screen is fantastic.
I know the camera is only 2mp but that doesn't bother me ;)

That deal almost looked too good to be true and it probably was, lol. :eeek:

Insane those resolutions on a small screen.
They also shamelessly copy the Apple marketing machine with calling it retina displays.

Mine is 1280x800 on a 10" inch and it already looks very sharp to me.

You can only imagine what next generation Tablets will bring.

Well I've had the second tablet the PIPO MAX M9 PRO 32GB GPS 10.1" RETINA IPS RK3188 QUAD CORE 4.2 ANDROID TABLET for a few days now and every thing is working just as it should
This is a very fast tablet and so far runs everything a throw at it with ease and the screen is absolutely gorgeous, in fact it has the same resolution as my 24" PC monitor all on a 10.1" screen :eeek:
It also has 2GB DDR3 RAM and 32GB of ROM plus I've added a 32GB sd card, so it's now a 64GB tablet.
The built in GPS and maps also mean it can be used as a satnav plus lots of other features and a 5MP camera. If anyone is looking for an affordable and fast tablet with an outstanding display then I would recommend giving this a once over.

Look for a tablet that you can install a custom OS on it like Cyanogenmod or OmniRom. The stock android OS is bloated and slow which also drains the battery. I have android 4.4.4 installed on my old ass Acer A500 Tegra 2 tablet and it runs a lot faster and uses a lot less battery than stock android did.

How has it been using that tablet then Bez?

For the last one and half year I have been using an Asus VivoTab 400 Me, and it has replaced my laptop.

Image

Because it runs the full version of Win 8 and still works as a windows tablet ;)

And it is the perfect solution for a school studie tablet pc.

The only real down side is the Intel Atom dual core cpu, but it then allows for good battery life with it's 24.000 mah battery, which allows for about 400 mins of steaming online tv series, which is perfect for watch series in the shadows on the terrace on the hot summer mid day 8-)

But good to hear you found a tablet for yourself

I might upgrade to ms Surface Pro at some point down the road ;)

It's an awesome tablet the PIPO MAX M9 PRO 32GB GPS 10.1" RETINA IPS RK3188 QUAD CORE
The screen is one of the best I have seen it is also very fast and all for £199 UK
As I said earlier it has the same resolution as my 24" PC monitor :eeek:

The only problem I have had is that it will crash on certain games (not many but some) I put this down to it been rooted before you get it to remove the original operating system.
This is not a problem for me as I didn't buy it to play games.

Well spec'ed that's for sure, but doesn't the screen and res. wear a lot on the battery when watching say a movie ?

Lol pretty its damn good for the price, but i prefer to buy my devices from a well known brand like Asus, but cost extra i guess your tablet cost 200£ and mine where just short of 375£ when i got it, but then again it is a full fledged win 8 pc in a tablet format ;)

But your battery is nice, 7600 mAh, where as the battery in my Asus ME400 is 6700 mAh that and the slow cpu is the worst things about my tablet, but then again so is for many other tablet as their battery life is not greatest, but one could always buy a powerbank charge unit to supplement the battery
