Hey guys! So, even though this happened quite a while ago, I thought this was still worth sharing. So when I graduated high school earlier this year, I had two options for a graduation gift: 1) a trip to New York City or 2) a trip up to northern Minnesota to drive a race car at a performance driving school. I think it's pretty clear which I chose. We got some video of my final run of the day: [BBvideo 560,340][/BBvideo]
(And yes, I did miss fifth gear there early on; the linkage was beyond terrible. But I would say I get more aggressive at around 18:00, just in case you wanted to see some of my better driving. Still not great, but better.)
So have any of you guys had any racing or extreme driving experiences? Here's the place to share your *totally legal* fun!
Any racing experience?

Jealous.
Unfortunately, there are practically no race tracks in NY state, and ZERO tracks within 2 hours of me.
Also, you should have visited me in NY ...but im glad you didn't, in this case.

Yeah, we probably wouldn't have been in upstate NY (although I do have a friend at Cornell up there), but racing was an incredible experience. And I know New York is home to the iconic Watkins Glen racetrack, but I can't remember where in the state.eaustinn36 wrote:Jealous.

4th, 5th and 1st is a good record, I think.

I haven't done more than race karts at this point. I've done multiple kart racing leagues, though which were fun! I really want to get into Miata spec racing and the Continental Tire series. Hopefully that'll lead me down the road to driving a prototype challenge in the Tudor series
I work part time at a race shop so perhaps an opportunity to drive will arise.
Nice driving, by the way! Must have felt good to pass that Benz.

If you pull out a car I don't own in my lobby, you'll meet my friend, the kick stick.
