Max did not make that call. The team did. 'Nuff said.

Kimi's car did not work as well on the red supersofts, but the strategy was clearly in Vettels favor. I'm not the only one who made that analysis. Maybe Kimi's face gave it away?

Alonso blew his Honda Engine. I do not think it will boost his confidence in them

Max should have pulled a Vettel and questioned the strategy, so ultimately his call that lost it for him as he should have known what the tires could do. But you win some you lose some. ;)

But done is done, maybe now he'll take notice of the team is calling and learn from this.

It is the next level of the learning curve in F1. :geek:

But i'm under the impression that Ricciardo is looking around in the paddock for a new seat. It might be a good thing for his career.
Vettel did the same, when he went to Ferrari when Ricciardo was driving circles around him at RBR.

Ferrari has many options to replace Kimi if they want to. Perez has openly declared his interest and Sainz might be a good option as well. Ricciardo probably has the edge. Ferrari always picks seasoned drivers for their line up.
Silly season might start early this year.

Eddy Jordan has created a stir, by announcing that Mercedes might leave F1 after 2018, as they have nothing to proof anymore.
They would stay as an engine supplier.

Toto Wolff immediately has called BS. Mercedes has a contract until 2020 and are in negotiating with Liberty right now.
"some people like to party in Monaco and it seems someone did a bit too much of that"

Jordan has based his "insight" on an interview with Mercedes Boss Dieter Zetsche, who did not confirm or deny Mercedes leaving the sport as a team, when Eddy brought it up.

Where there is smoke, there is fire. Jordan is usually well informed.

Will they do the same as Rosberg did and leave the sport on a high?

Never a dull moment with Eddy Jordan

Zak Brown has his concerns about continuing the McLaren relation with Honda.
Honda is rumored to pay McLaren 300M $ a Year, so when this kind of statments are made, you know they are seriously considering their options. I think many others have seen that coming.
"I don't want to get into what our options are. Our preference is to win the world championship with Honda. But at some point you need to make a decision as to whether that's achievable. And we have serious concerns.

"Missing upgrades, and upgrades not delivering to the level we were told they were going to, you can only take that so long. And we're near our limit."

What a sensational lap from Lewis Hamilton to take pole. That was a flying lap like no other. Vettels Ferrari came close, but in the end came short.

What a race !

Mercedes will probably complain about too little TV time. But Hamilton was controlling the race and the real action was right behind him.
The battle for P3 continued until the final lap. But Ricciardo was safe, because Perez refused to let his team mate Ocon pass. A shame really, as Vettel was able to catch up and pass both now. Almost grabbed the Red Bull as well.

Vettel drove a sloppy race and could have been penalized for forcing Ocon off track in turn 1. Ocon deserved more this race. But Force India had a great result with 5th and 6th.
Max' RBR completely shut down when the electrics failed. Second time this weekend. And at the worst possible moment. Driving in 2nd place with podium chances.
Carlos Sainz did not give Grosjean enough room, forcing the HAAS on the grass, returning to track and hitting Sainz, who spun and torpedoed poor Massa. Alonso was close witness as both cars took off track right in front of him. Vandoorne overtook Alonso, who was probably still watching what happened.

Canada is always a decor for great races. But this one had everything in it. Drama, victory and even local Hero Lance Stroll, scoring his first points.

More of this please. :woot:

The constructor championship is interesting as well now. Mercedes has overtaken Ferrari again.

Vettel drove a very good race, considering the teenager drove over his front wing, but Verstappen got a healthy dose of karma after ruining Vettel's race, so justice served.

But Vettel would have won this race if Verstappen could have kept his teenage ass in line, maybe time for Vettel to slap him in line again.

But other than that a great race, except the wrong car won :(

Lol, you must have been watching a different race than.
Vettel could have avoided that wing damage. Max was lucky not to get a puncture from Vettels poor control there. And let me remind you that the car in front is always right.

In the end it was Vettel who drove a heroic race from P18 to P4, just missing out on a podium finish.

PS I congratulate myself for 10.000 posts :woot:
