Rigiiiiht ... Verstappen cut the corner without leaving room for the cars he was passing, Verstappen should have had the puncture, but i guess he got karma later in the race.

And right of way of the first corner in the race, yea right no such thing.

But you tell me, but opening lap the teenager should have know better than to cut the corner from the outside line when it is 3 cars side by side.

And Vettel could do nothing, as Bottas as the noob he is he was locking up his front tires, and if Vettel slowed more than he did then Kimi would have hit him, and if he just drove his line then Max would have crashed into him as he had committed to the turn from the outside line which is very ballzy, so he did a Kvyat move - all or nothing move - a fools bravery.

Vettel already called it a racing accident. Max not to blame for it.
He did get the driver of the day reward for an epic overtake race.

RBR obviously did not repair Max' ERS system properly after he stalled the car under similar circumstances on Friday. That is not good. Maybe RBR should have replaced his ERS system to prevent this from happening.
Ricciardo was handed 3th spot on a platter.

And i'm pretty sure Force India now has a battle at hand between their drivers. Ocon was much faster than Perez and had a chance for a podium. To be continued there.

I enjoyed watching the Canadian GP. That was a very good race.

PS Sainz has been penalized with 3 grid positions for next race. His mindless actions caused a very dangerous situation, when he forced Grosjean off track, who could barely recover his HAAS, hitting Sainz when returning, who spun out and torpedoed Massa out of the race.
The Spanish Bowling machine. But that was not a strike to be proud of.

Max was leading P1 and P2, but in the last moments of P2, he slammed his RBR sideways into the barriers. A bit sloppy mistake. Still setting the pace in both practice sessions.
Alonso blew another Honda engine. That guy must be so patient. Honda brought 30 extra Horses, but they appear to be Harikiri Horses. :P

Most drivers overshot at least one or two corners, as braking zones are hard to get right in Baku.

P3 showed a lot of cars with issues. Grosjean keeps complaining about the brakes. He does this the whole year. But if you do not have the confidence in the brakes, it can cost you in laptimes. Strange that HAAS can not fix that.

Jolyon Palmer was in the Renault hot seat when his car caught on fire. :angry-extinguishflame:

Max Verstappen had another total shut down. That is the 3rd time in a row. I don't believe in coincidences. That must have consequences within his mechanical staff.
EDIT; It appears to be a hydrolic issue this time. Reliability is not good at Red Bull Racing this year.

Alonso has now 40 places grid penalty. If they replace more parts on his car, he has to start from the desert nearby

Bottas was fastest, closely followed by Raikkonen. Both Fins seem to like the narrow streets of Baku.
Ocon emerges more and more as a force to be reckoned with.

Sauber Team Boss Monischa Kaltenborn has been sacked. The new owners want a different direction.
She was the one, who contracted two new drivers, while there were still two with valid contracts for that season. Leading to a very expensive flight from Peter Sauber to Australia to buy off Guido van der Garde's contract for a rumored 20M $ :o
Maybe good as a PR or Marketing executive but she never shined as a team Boss.
Speculations about her successor are buzzing in the pit lane. ATS Boss and Former Renault Team Manager Frédéric Vasseur has been mentioned.

One more thing; everybody is now bashing Honda, but the mechanical failure that stopped Alonso's Fridays session was caused by a gearbox problem. And McLaren makes those boxes.....

Another "stellar" performance from Lewis Hamilton as his race engineer called it. His 66th pole and an excellent position to start tomorrows race in Baku.

Ricciardo slammed his backside into the wall, causing a code red. Just when everybody was improving laptimes. With just 3.33 to go, it were both Ferraris who took 3rd and 4th, moving Max to 5th. Bottas improved his time, but kept 2nd position. Hamilton was half a second faster than anyone else.

Messy race this weekend, so many safety cars, i think they used this whole years safety car amounts on this race

Vettel is a mad boss, my Hamilton is a F******* asshole for braking checking him, and slammed into him to wake Hamilton's sorry ass up, maybe abit to hard, but hell Vettel was angry and rightfully so. But damn don't mess with Vettel or you'll get wrecked xD But i fear stewards won't see kindly to it, but who cares this is a tittle match up.

Edit.
Vettel 10 sec stop and go for dangerous driving, and Hamilton got a technical flag for a lose headrest they needed to change, so both championship leaders most likely out of the podium for this race, what a EPIC race

Demolition derby in Baku

Bottas T-boned Kimi, both Force India drivers took each other out when in scoring position. Hamilton gave Vettel a brake test, but Vettel should have taken more distance. His reaction should have led to a DQ. But Ferrari seems to have people in high places. 10 sec stop and go for an intentional colission is a joke.
Max had another fail engine (sabotage?). But Alonso scored his first points of the season

Last man standing was Ricciardo, winning the race in his RBR. Bottas had an epic come back from 20th, 1 lap behind even and just passing Lance Stroll on the finish line for second.

Lance Stroll was voted driver of the day and rewarded with his first podium. That wil shut down many critics, including myself ;)

I do not think i have ever seen so many incidents in a single race and also so many clumsy marshals.
Some are not happy with Baku on the F1 calender. They paid 450M $ for 10 years. So they are there to stay for a while.

It was an entertaining race, even if chaotic.

Yeah mega race, but for all the wrong reason

Lets see what the drivers have to say about it, Hamilton can't be happy, but neither can Vettel. But i think Vettel didn't mean to hit Hamilton, i think it just happened, but 10 sec is a pretty light penalty, but maybe a point on the licence maybe ?

But Stroll got very lucky in this race by staying out of trouble and bring it home, but shame Bottas nicked 2nd just on the finish line, but still great result, i also voted for him.

Now i'm just interesting in the drivers interviews.

vettel should get DQ'd !!!
first of all Hamy was the pacesetter behind the safetycar,
so vettel should've kept more distance !!!
and then that idiot gets so pissed he INTENTIONALY crashes into Hamy
(possibly even passing him, with is not alowed)
and then he falls out of the sky for why he gets a (WAY to light) 10 sec penalty ???

and all those probs with Max's car need some SERIOUS investigation !!!
