London. Tomorrow. 18.30.
I can't be the only one thinking just how bad of an idea this is, Britain / London is a powder cake of bombs and terror so why give them more to blow up ??

Never let Terror cloud your decision making. The moment you start taking them in consideration, you will only boost the confidence of terrorists.

It is a very good idea to do extra F1 promotion in London, UK's capital.

Besides, F1 has a large interest from the Arabic world. So i do not expect anyone stupid enough to try to ruin that party. And there will most likely be counter terrorism measures made.

F1 Live was pretty cool, and to see the drivers just have a good time is awesome.

But the no Hamilton, he said he needed a rest, which is a real dick move considering all of the fans that had turned up to see the show.

But Vettel and Ricardo pulled on some awesome donut drives in the old screaming V8 F1's 8-) God i miss those sounds...

This is not the first time Hamilton acts like this. He obviously has a clause in his contract, where he can decide for himself what additional events he can attend or not. A bad thing, to be honest, as that is also part of Formula 1.

He did have the time to visit night clubs in London and it has been said many times that Hamilton sometimes does not take F1 as serious as he should. You can not compensate everything with talent.
If he is not 100% focused again, like last season, Bottas will wash his ears on the track.

Maybe Hamilton is secretly negotiating with Ferrari already, who knows. He still has a contract at Mercedes for next year, i think. But with his current attitude towards the sport, Mercedes might change direction by offering Ocon a place in their team.

Maybe it is just being home in England that makes him drift away a little. But not showing up at the epic by David Coulthard organized fan event, was just a slap in the face of his fans. And he should know that by now.

Now i wonder just how much aero drag those now windshields will give the cars, they will surely be abit slower with them mount as it is more surface aero to break the wind, which will no doubt impact their topspeed.

I think an aero shield like that will improve overal Cw reduction, thus improve air resistance. So far the best looking solution. If it helps improve the driver safety, why not.

The airflow into the engine intake will be a different story and might have to be slightly adapted.

P1 showed no real surprises, but Ferrari was a bit off the pace compared to RBR, who appear to have taken second spot in speed now. Mercedes was still fastest, on Yellow, with Bottas leading the pack.
I think Hamilton underestimates Bottas' speed and determination. Valtteri won't play second violin for long. :violin:

Max made an impressive boost speech at the factory. Showing he is not only a strong character inside the cockpit.
Lets see if it will shift the momentum in his favor.

New Sauber team Boss is Frédéric Vasseur, as expected. First thing to do will be closing the Honda Deal. Maybe not a bad thing, despite Honda's current struggle. They will have a much better powerplant next year. And it will be a massive leap, compared to the 2016 Ferrari engine they use now.

P2 showed Ferrari taking second spot again. That makes me wonder why Ferrari seems to have such bad Factory setup each GP weekend. These are the setups they start with at a race weekend. But the last couple of races, i noticed them to be way off the pace, or with wierd setups that made both cars spin, like in Austria. Normally you start with the Factory based setup and work from there to improve during the weekend. They were clearly struggling in P1.
But in P2 they were on the pace again, so they must have found a new setup after analysing all data. Maybe it is due to the "translation" from last years car to this year. As it is a totally different type of machine with other grip and earo levels. But still it does not look very good for them. They should know their car by now.

Hamilton looked very strong in the long run tests. So he is my favorite for the victory on Sundays race. Unless Pluvius kicks in. ;)

Bottas and Hamilton drove similar times in P2, but Hamilton did it on Yellow, while Bottas was on the Red supersofts.

PS There are rumors about a group, who want to organize a street race in Kopenhagen, Denmark.

PPS Vettel did not like the cockpit view of the new shield device. It deforms the vision, as it has a strongly bended surface. So after 1 lap, he was done with it.

Yea i heard, but seriously doubt it is F1 worthy, Copenhagen is just but hurt that Aarhus second biggest city gets to have a yearly street race while the morons in Copenhagen doesn't.

Image

Honestly Copenhagen is no where big enough to host a Formula 1 race, also the streets in question so damn narrow, + how do a F1 car drive and cobblestones, and they people leaving in the appartements on those streets would need to be rehoused another place as they wouldn't be able to live there where the Formula 1 show is going on. Not to forget the traffic lights and the curbs in the middle of the roads, it would be a MESS to set up a GP track there.

So 2020 is the estimated time for for the Danish GP, but it is a LONG way off.

Here is a run through of the purposed track layout, it could be decent, with a lot of highspeed and slow sections, and it is fairly long to 4,4 km i think it was.
