I have to partially agree with this. Just posting videos is not productive.
Some videos make good points, show new developments or insights in car related things. They are not really random. There is a lot of car related stuff to talk about.

So from now on, i want everybody who posts a video to comment on that video in the same post.
Don't just share the video, but what you think about it as well.

Wouldn't a thread dedicated just for the videos be better? I mean, when I enter here I am expecting more or less some sort of news on a manufacturer or other things (like the VW fiasco with diesel engines) and seeing that a new post in this thread was just a video is just, for a lack of a better term, boring, mainly because I cannot watch these things with the sound turned on most of the time (computer is in the living room and we all agreed to keep the sound off if there's anyone else at home).

This is a bit of a selfish proposal but can't the videos just be banned in this thread and a specific thread be created for them, a Car Videos thread? And of course I say this knowing that it's not a complete fix for the problem and all the complaining would happen in the new thread instead but MY problem would be solved.

It is a nice a idea to prevent this thread from being what it was described as before, " a contest of who can post the most amount of random videos rather than a chat".

May I say a rule along the lines of:

Do not share new videos if no one has responded to your post yet, unless X days have gone by

could also make this thread more productive and not have that feel of rushed when you go by 3 or more posts in sequence all made by the same person.

I already opened the Petrolheads thread for posting Car Videos that don't belong in a dedicated thread.

With adding a few lines to a video it can already become more of a discussion starter than it is now.

It all depends if the subjects of these videos are worth talking about. And that is up to you.

I watch most of them.

PS Some just communicate through videos, (animated) Gifs and emoijs. I do not expect long texts from everybody. But to just say a thing or two about the video you want to post is not too much to ask

I know, one of my housemates got one and I already tested it but the sound was awful, I kept hearing sounds I am not able to describe properly in this language, I guess the speakers of our PC are just , so if I were to resolve the issue I would need to buy not only the headphones but also new speakers seeing how I'm the only one who actually cares about not having sound; I'd much rather save my money for a new mobile phone (which I need because of that crappy WhatsApp group my university mates use to send important stuff) or a laptop...

In that case you can plug your earplugs directly into the soundcard at the rear and not in the headphone jack on the speakers. Speaker cable might be damaged
