If its option B will the servers be shut down? Or do that have a duty to keep them live?eaustinn36 wrote:Either another sale at a lower minimum, or the series will be dissolved. Hoping for option A.Gatorbait771 wrote:This may be cliche, but...Now what? ._.
I'd they haven't sold, will they go on to another sale?

They will keep them alive until a new owner decides what to do with it.SNUGGLE_MONKEY wrote:

According to some rumors, the servers are rented until early 2014. But you still need maintenance and support with it off course.
1.5M for just the license is a steep price TBH. And no info is given about what it includes. I asked a while back but never got a response.
Maybe they are not so eager to sell after all.

If tdu2 had sold it would have been noted on that ^ .

At least some developers show interest in certain game franchises. All targeted bids it seems.foldschool wrote:i guess you seen this official record of successful bids?

Test Drive needs a certain breed of developers. IMO a very strong brand name, despite Atari's attempts to kill it.
Worthy of 1.5M? Probably not...

I think what's probably put developers off is the fact that we have a new kid on the block now with The Crew. Previously the Test Drive franchise didn't have much in the way of competition with open world driving games but with The Crew and Forza 2 on the way it's a hole new ball game now (plus the fact Atari didn't exactly leave the game in a good position when it left).

Must be the new Horizon. Maybe Ballmer should throw another office chair through a window to get a better perspective of an open world game.
The next NFS will be open world as well.
TDU will get some fierce competition, but i still think that nothing beats an original. And that's what TDU is. Even Atari can not mess that up.
