Owh hell no .. thats a sport no one would watch - only the tree huggers
That right there would kill formula 1 for good...
Plus it isn't really racing without the sound of the engines - simple as that, because that right there is only fun to watch if you are sitting in the drivers seat...
Btw. i think formula 1 would rather run on diesel fuel than pure electric

Or alcohol, like in the US. Diesel is for trucks and shipsBear304 wrote:Btw. i think formula 1 would rather run on diesel fuel than pure electric
PS The current development of hybrid systems is on purpose to build technology the car industry will use in their cars.
Formula E won't replace Formula 1 anytime soon. like Madman said, it is a testing ground for EV technology. I am not shure, but I believe Formula E cars are heavier than Formula 1 cars, but would have some advantages like no change of weight during a race, so a setup would be consistent throughout a race.
I guess we will find out how Formula E will go. this Saturday September the 13th, will be the first real race, taking place in Beijing.
some news from Fox Sports.

I don't really know about F-E.
One one side it is very good for development of high-end electrical power systems for every day cars, on the other hand i think the smell of High Octane, the sound of loud Engines, noises, fire and smoke are an integral part of racing and also part of the appeal to visit races.
A day at the races is probably not a day most people associate with bringing down the carbon footprint.

At some point you run out of fossil fuel and alcohol is for drinking. Engine noise can be duplicated for those who want to have noise. I recently read the article below and if the technology proves itself, it could be maybe useful in all engines.
The Engine
The Engine
count down is at less than 11 hours, around 7 p.m. for me.
lol, I have never anticipated watching a race.

i realy wonder why they still focus on electric ???
mostly ya still have to create electric from burning fossile fuels !!!
hydrogen power however is created from WATER
and best from overly abundand SALTWATER
wich means a sourche more availeble that any other on our planet
plus it keeps the combustion sound we all LOVE
and gives ZERO Pollution and gives over 20x more power per "unit" than fuel.............
