Not really. Graphical mods have never been a priority at Atari. However strictly speaking it is also not allowed.top250 wrote:Prepsi wrote:mhm......how come i've never been banned for using it then?MadManCK wrote:You can be banned from online play if you use Knyazevs launcher. Don't do it. Atari software will detect it. Same goes for MODS that illegally unlocks DLC and alters performance data.
He even warns on his own site for it

besides, i only use car mods and texmod anyway.
makeing bad name for your self saying this!
We all know that this "alternative" launcher is used by people who use cracked versions of the game or illegally unlocked content. As well as hackers.
It is also the way to play with mods. Although some mods are "harmless", a lot are not. Players have been banned for using simple mods in the past. But Atari's goal is to ban thief's from their network as well as players who hack results or performance data and therefore ruïn the game experience for others.
This has all been clearly stated by Mattlab and others.
Using this alternative launcher is at your own risk.
OT You can use an online profile to play offline by disconnecting the net, but you can not use an offline profile to play online. There are some tricks to make an offline profile suitable for online play, but that takes some effort. Just make all profiles online and there is no real issue.
