Arlighty, here's the story. One of my friends was contacted by a player named atariadmin saying there was a tdu3 beta and he'd send it along with a tdu2 beta through email. the whole convo is documented through here:

ferrari and audrey both fell for it. when i checked all their apps i use to talk with them outside of TDU, they have no activity since last night [which coincidentially is when they downloaded the 'betas']
I knew they got a virus then, but jax posted an interesting thread that seemed exactly like what atariadmin said just instead of betas through email it was hacks for tdu sent through email.

I don't use Mods in TDU2
I do have accounts on a lot of TDU related sites. Even forgot about this one, lol

There are many tricks these hackers use to get access to your account. This is the way they are capable of coming back, even when they are banned. They use the accounts of others. If your account gets flagged because of it, you can not play online anymore. Very sad indeed. Lame tricks.
I hope for those players their PC can get cleaned from that virus.

Always make an external copy of your save games, just in case you have to reinstall your whole PC

They target Teens, as they are usually more curious than cautious and can be an easy prey for those n00b hackers.
Be careful before you bite this kind of bait. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is....
