As much as I hate hackers, arresting someone for hex editing a hot rod in a videogame is beyond insane, especially if all you're doing is modding a car or changing your skin color. Also, your chances of getting banned for hex editing on PSN are slim since it's usually done through a USB with a PC. I know a few people who did it and so far nothing happened, maybe if Atari cared themselves they cold get banned from the game itself. Honestly, if all you're doing is getting yourself a hot rod and changing your skin color then you should be able to, it doesn't affect anyone else.eaustinn36 wrote:And should get you arrested in real life.MadManCK wrote:Hacking gamefiles can get you banned from the PSN

Usually Hex editors don't stop with skin colors or some hidden vehicle. Adding a little punch to win races or altering everything they can is more likely.
But Atari is virtually non existent, so they don't care anymore. Sad story.

Speaking of which, I drove past two people in bright yellow 370z with blue wheels. I was going at 249mph so I can't be sure, but I'm betting a lot of money that they were Nismos.

At least it's not as bad as MCLA. Every time I go online, there are modders going at insane speeds and flashing their blue headlights.

well i'll be honest here i've seen the recent increase in modders on ps3 so i went looking online to see all the hub-ub and apparently anyone can modify their save file. jailbreak or not with said hex editing i'm not sure if the sky is the limit with what that could accomplish however most do it for leveling ferraris/bikes, custom painting of unpaintable cars and of course obtaining hidden cars. I do apologize to all of those who despise modding here as i couldn't resist trying out the audi r8 quattro and police charger but im happy to announce ive since replaced them with ford mustang fastbacks and sold them as well!

I've thought about trying it on my second, offline profile. I doubt it's all it's cracked up to be, but those Audi wheels looked nice! I want to unlock the V8 Audi R8 and the V8 Touareg to give them a try again. They were usable in some delivery missions before they were completed. I'd like to unlock the livery editor on some cars if that's possible...*gets carried away and becomes a fulltime modder*Superninja_1 wrote:well i'll be honest here i've seen the recent increase in modders on ps3 so i went looking online to see all the hub-ub and apparently anyone can modify their save file. jailbreak or not with said hex editing i'm not sure if the sky is the limit with what that could accomplish however most do it for leveling ferraris/bikes, custom painting of unpaintable cars and of course obtaining hidden cars. In all seriousness, it's good to hear that you've rid yourself of them!

If you pull out a car I don't own in my lobby, you'll meet my friend, the kick stick.
Those are Nismos indeed.Xlthuathopec wrote:Speaking of which, I drove past two people in bright yellow 370z with blue wheels. I was going at 249mph so I can't be sure, but I'm betting a lot of money that they were Nismos.
They probably tried the new Unofficial Patch. It unlocks the "finished" unreleased cars in the game.
Nismo comes with a couple of rim options, but only one of them is finished. Any other makes rims turn blue for other players without the patch.
But this must have been on PC, not PS3...

There's a V8 Touareg? I don't remember doing a mission with that.Gatorbait771 wrote:I've thought about trying it on my second, offline profile.
