Alright back from hunting; How'd the sale go? How much did EA pay for TDU2?

Nooooo. No EA.Gatorbait771 wrote:Alright back from hunting; How'd the sale go? How much did EA pay for TDU2?
They would kill the franchise.
Besides it does not fit i their portfolio.
NFS is a very strong brand and they are working on an open world game now.
Only reason they would buy it is to kill the competition.
UbiSoft would be a better fit. Or maybe Nadal buys TDU and strikes back.
Another option is that it will be sold internally to the American Branch of Atari.
The outcome of the auction should be public. Someone has to know something. we'll get there.

Haha I was only joking. With my luck, a company like EA would buy out and destroy my favorite game I'm surprised that we haven't heard anything of the results. Anywho, I'm sure we'll get the word of our new developer "soon."MadManCK wrote:Nooooo. No EA.Gatorbait771 wrote:Alright back from hunting; How'd the sale go? How much did EA pay for TDU2?

The auction is supposed to conclude today, I think the Atari brand name itself is the last on the list.

It seems Test Drive and Rollercoaster Tycoon did not meet the minimum bids.
http://www.neoseeker.com/news/23463-ata ... ihilation/Atari, much like THQ before it, is in the process of auctioning off its franchise assets as part of bankruptcy proceedings. For instance, both its Desperados and Silver IPs have already been sold to Nordic Games, who previously purchased several THQ franchises like Darksiders. Over the weekend several franchises had their bids deemed successful, though a sales hearing is still set for Wednesday to approve the bids.
Here's a list of each Atari franchise bid upon, along with the successful bidder and back-up bidder:
As should be evident from the list of assets being sold, there are some who have yet to have any bids confirmed. For instance, both RollerCoaster Tycoon and Test Drive seem not to have had their minimum bid levels met, despite being Atari's most valuable assets. Then there's the Atari brand and logo itself, which should be worth a good lot, left to be sold. At this point you have to worry if it's cursed, I bet.
While the exact details of the auction are rather unclear, beyond the above franchises who have had successful bids, there's time left to bid on other properties. Everything should be wrapped up between July 10 and 20, however.
Goodbye, Atari, and good luck. Also, get cracking on a new Total Annihilation, Wargaming!

This may be cliche, but...Now what? ._.
I'd they haven't sold, will they go on to another sale?

Either another sale at a lower minimum, or the series will be dissolved. Hoping for option A.Gatorbait771 wrote:This may be cliche, but...Now what? ._.
