Invalid key
I don't have this issue. Just logged in Online and drove around a bit without issues.
It can be server related as the player server gives a red status.
If it keeps happening you can try a support ticket.

I sent one in let's see what happens Madman one question for you do you have the dvd version and if so does it check for the dvd ,the reason I ask is for some reason I can start the game without the dvd being in ,now I haven't played it since June and as far as I remember it checked for the dvd before starting.
Have you been doing anything illegal? Like modding, hacking? It's possible that you got your key taken away for doing illegal activities. Anything is possible.ken87 wrote:I just tried to start the but I keep getting "invalid key switching to off line mode" anyone know what that's about?

It is probably one of the servers that is offline.
This is the same server that prevents players from registration and other account issues.
ATM Casino is accessible, but Casino Games are not. So part of the game servers are down. Maybe also one of the account servers.
Sometimes after a reboot, it takes a while before some games have access again. It can take up to 48 hours. If you have not played for a while and servers have been rebooted in the mean time, that can also be related.
If your game was blocked by Atari you should get a message. They block illegal copies and games with illegally unlocked DLC.
That's not the case here.
PS I have both DVD and Steam versions. Only tried the Steam one.

To answer the question about needing the DVD in the drive to play that's not the case, I used to leave my DVD in all the time then one day after swapping it to install something I forgot to put the TDU DVD back in the drive I had been playing the game for about half an hour before I noticed that was a long time ago now I never put it in the drive to play the game ( of Corse it needs to be in the drive when you first install and register the game )
Once it has checked your game files, you don't need the disc any more.
That's a good thing as leaving it in there can only damage it.
