OK, here the first bunch of Mods for Skyrim
Location Mods
There are a lot of great location Mods for Skyrim, but some clearly stand out from the rest.
1. Falskaar
This mod is of DLC Quality. I also use some player home improvements and a fast travel map marker for Falskaar
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/37994/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
2. Wyrmstooth
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25704/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
3. Helgen Reborn
Activate this Mod after the first sequence of the game when you escaped from Helgen. It lets you rebuild the town, some cool quests and a nice player home with epic dungeon to show off your stuffed Dragons
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/35841/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
Player Homes
There are so many cool player home mods, it is hard to pick a few.
1. Breezehome, fully upgradable*
Lets you upgrade and extend your home with some very cool features, including a cellar, dungeon and secret escape route behind a waterfall
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/11158/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
2. The Asteria
A Floating Dwemer Ship on an awesome location hovering above a lake near Riverwood
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/13641/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
3. Niires improvements for Hjerim, Honeyside and Proudspire*
Very cool upgrades for the default player homes with some nice features. These make the default homes much better without overdoing it.
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/19974/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
4. Raven Nest
Elianora makes very cool cozy player homes. This one is situated on the outskirts of Raven Rock and also adds an alternative way to travel between Skyrim and Solstheim.
For Dragonborn DLC owners only.
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/48366/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
5. Ranger Cabins
This mod adds some Hunter Cabins in harsh locations. Comes in very handy when you do very little fast travel and they are equipped with the essential work stations and some shelter.
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/14400/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
6. Dragon Cliff Manor
If you always fancied a Dragon Hanging from the ceiling, this is the home for you.
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/39018/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
7. Whiterun Mansion
Just outside Whiterun. With teleport home and spell included.
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/37121/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
Game Play Improvements
1. Amazing Follower Tweaks
Lets you manage your followers, make them essential, learn them spells, give them commands and you can have more than 1.
I usually play with 2 or 3 followers on occasion. More will make things messy in cramped locations
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/15524/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
2. Convenient Horses
A real must have mod. Your Horse will come to you, so you do not have to spend time searching for a black horse, hiding behind a tree in the night during a snowstorm after a battle. You can also set their behavior and put on some armor. In addition to that, your followers can ride horses as well, which greatly adds to the immersion of the game.
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/14950/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
3. Wearable Lanterns
Makes you wear a lantern on your belt so you can keep your hands free for weapons and spells.
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/17416/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
4. Dragon Soul Relinquishment
Adds a Dragon Stone in High Hrothgar that lets you convert Dragon Souls into useful things like Perk Points, Health, Magic or Stamina Boost, Increase Carry Weight, Enforce Shouts and more.
Comes with some great visuals as well.
After you have activated most shouts, you will end up with a lot of useless Dragon Souls. This Mod makes use of that in a very cool and adjustable manner.
It also lets you decide how balanced or unbalanced you want it to be.
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/27531/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
5. Cloaks of Skyrim and Winter Comes
Adds Cloaks and Fur to NPC, Companions and player.
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/12092/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/13486/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
6. Aduras Merchant Mod
Lets you have a Market Stand in 4 cities. A very cool way to get rid of all that left over loot and greatly adds to the immersion. You can hire a shopkeeper or let your Housecarl do the selling.
You can find it in the Steam Workshop, or use the special Nexus version of Breezehome Fully Upgradable that places a stand across the street.
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... =116775764" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
7. Arods Better Containers
Lets you access containers remotely with spells or powers.
I use this in combination with the market chests, so i can send all the loot directly to my merchants and pick up my profit when i return to the city
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/28196/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
8. Left Hand Rings
Very useful to boost your enchantments and give you some additional punch in battles.
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/21720/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
9. Get Snowy
Ads snow effects on clothes, NPC and Horses without scripting
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/19660/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
10. ERSO
With ERSO you can completely adjust your game. From more dangerous Dragons to Bandits, Patrols, make the game a lot tougher, give merchant more coins and a lot more.
Unfortunately not anymore on the Nexus as the author found it necessary to endorse himself (idiot, lol) but still available on his own website.

*Install default home upgrades after you bought the house and upgraded everything.
More will follow soon®
Skyrim Mods and Tweaks
lol about that question
Environment Mods
These make the game a completely different experience
1. Climates of Tamriel (CoT)
Best weather mod out there. I also use a patch for CoT that removes the exaggerated blue light and also makes some fog.
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/17802/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
CoT Patch:
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/39799/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
2. Enhanced Lights and FX (ELFx)
If you don't want to use an ENB. Works very well, removes the ambient light (light w/o source) and increases the light emitted from fires and torches a bit.
You will need to boost your torch or wearable lanterns (level 3) as it does the same in dungeons
No visible FPS drops and a huge improvement over the default lighting.
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/27043/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
3. Ethereal Cosmos
Changes the stars and galaxies in the sky.
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/47173/?4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.
4. Enhanced Wetness and Puddles
Creates some wetlooks and shore effects.
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/46915/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
5. Lanterns of Skyrim
Places candle lanterns along the roads
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/18916/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
6. SkyFalls and SkyMills - Animated Distant Waterfalls and WindMills
Makes waterfalls and windmills move in the distance. Great immersion enhancer !
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/40564/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
7. Windmills Resized
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/30026/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
8. Pure Waters
Best watermod for Skyrim IMO, you can almost drink it
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/1111/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
9. Amber Guard, Lainterdale and Oakwood
Places some settlements in Oblivion style in cool places. Fully integrated in the game.
You can find them in the Steam workshop as the author does not upload them to the Nexus.
http://steamcommunity.com/id/ThirteenOr ... ppid=72850" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
PS From the same author is a cool Pit Fighter Mod, great for leveling up battle and blocking skills
These are the must haves for Skyrim IMO.
Literally thousands of mods have been created by the community for skyrim some good, some not so good, but there are plenty of ways to improve and customize your game, appearance, quests and gameplay. Have fun modding.
Some fun mods for the lolz
Unrelenting Force Upgrade
If you are a fan of FUS, but a bit disappointed by the "bad cough" created by Dovakin, this is the mod to try. You will blast opponents from cliffs, through ceilings and turn caves into bowling allies.
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/42710/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
Fireworks
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/48271/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
ApachiiSkyHair

Beards
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/28363/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
Prides of Skyrim
Lions !!
(i use v1.2 as 1.3 places a tiger and cheetah on the most used crossroad in Skyrim, lol, eating all peasants .)
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/12647/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
Fire and Ice Overhaul

The Creation Kit is an awesome tool. And there are more mod tools out there.
Remember Skyrim is a 32bit application, so even with a 64bit OS you can not exceed 3.2gig.
In fact you have to be very careful not to use too high res mods for environments.
I have been downloading some texture mods from the combiner. Insane amount of mods. You can only imagine the time and energy this dude has spent to mix and match them all, lol. I have spent a lot of time myself, avoiding conflicts, cleaning, placing in the right order and even then sometimes parts wont load or create conflicts where there were none before.
Very useful indeed as it will dramatically decrease loading time and will probably boost the whole games appearance.
There are also ways to make the Steam Workshop Mods compatible with the nexus manager. I plan to do them all. Will take some time for sure.
As soon® as i'm finished with mod merging and have a working game i will make a copy of that file and store it on a stick. Just in case i will have to reinstall it again. And it seems a lot of mods are disabled or no longer available.
SRO is down on the nexus due to the modder being suspended. I don't know about their policies, but start to understand why some wont upload their mods to the nexus. IMO it is still the place to be to grab the best mods.
SRO is still available through a Torrent file. More than 3.5 gig big.
It will take a huge effort to grab them all and make a working batch file. We'll see.

I have just finished downloading all mods
5 hours total, lol (done other stuff at the same time so it went reasonably quick)
The American servers seem to be fast today. Pick those.
I will give the merging and patching a shot tomorrow. Better call it Operation SK-TDUDT-01
