Indeed very unfair. Totally out of his control or that from the Ferrari team.
But the FIA does not want to make an exception. And technically it is the "fault" of the FIA as they are end responsible for the safety on and around the track.

Sainz had to change the monocoque, engine, gearbox, suspension, undertray and even his seat was damaged. But the penalty is for the battery.

Some of these rules... :angry-banghead:

:rulez:

All I am seeing is a flat boring track and tall chain fences with sponsors on them.

I understand the cameras are focused on the cars but lets see some of that Vegas strip bling and that dumb Sphere. :|

Absolute epic qualifying session, ending with both Ferrari's on the front line. Unfortunately Sainz drops 10 places due to a penalty for changing the battery. Verstappen 3rd but LeClerc was on a high all weekend so far.
It all came down to the final laps as track conditions keep improving during the whole session.

Will the race pace be as good at Saturday Night's race?

Positive note for Williams GP with both cars in the top 10. McLaren dropped the sphere with both cars out in Q1.

Maybe the track layout itself is not that spectacular, but what a race. Plenty of overtaking actions, some on crazy places. And the most epic straight you can imagine to race on :2thumbsup:
This was by far the best race this season from a race craft perspective.

Also unpredictable, which adds to the total entertainment of this Vegas bonanza.

Ferrari good in the mix, but in the end it was Max who grabbed the win. LeClerc 2nd with a last lap deep dive on Checo (3rd)
A 3 horse race to the finish. What a race. There were so many overtakes that it is hard to pick the best one.

Image

LeClerc was voted driver of the day after that heroic drive

Very spectacular in a spectacular place. :smoking:
We did expect a great show in Vegas, but this race was something special.

Max is probably a bit more enthusiastic about the whole event. He sounded a bit like Kimi 2.0 this week. But Las Vegas is there to stay.

Now the organization has to deal with a law suit involving all of the disappointed spectators who were send home after the track damage incident. A voucher for some free Vegas F1 gear will probably don't cut it.

The last qualifying was again subject to track limits. If there was a drift king award that would go to Lando Norris but the Pole went to Max Verstappen, lining up for another record breaking win? We will see tomorrow.

Maybe more shocking was both Carlos Sainz and Lewis Hamilton not making it to the final qualifying session :eeek:

Another day at the office for Max Verstappen, claiming his 19th ! win this season.
Charles LeClerc gave him a good battle in the first couple of laps but than he drove away like we have seen more often this season.
Some interesting battles in the midfield, but mostly an uneventful race. Most team members will be exhausted after the ridiculous double header with Las Vegas. Literally the other side of the globe. But everybody will now go on a well deserved Holiday.

McLaren confirmed their found speed with 5th and 6th.

When it comes to sounds, the F1 appears to be a downgrade with each generation... :eeek:
