Cizeta V16T '94
Cizeta V16T '94.JPG
The Cizeta-Moroder V16T, now known as just the Cizeta V16T, is an Italian sports car created by automotive engineer Claudio Zampolli in a joint venture with music composer Giorgio Moroder and designed by the famed Marcello Gandini. It was the only product of the Cizeta company. It was developed by a group of ex-Lamborghini employees and initially introduced in 1988.

The Cizeta-Moroder name comes from the spelling in Italian of the initials of the designer Claudio Zampolli (that is where the name "Cizeta" comes from; Ci-Zeta is italian for the letters C-Z, Zampolli's initials) and Giorgio Moroder. The V16T signifies that its engine is a V16 unit mounted Transversely in the central rear position, just forward of the rear axle and behind the passenger seats. However, the engine was not a true V16. Rather, it was engineered from the ground up as two flat plane V8s sharing a single block, mounted transversely, with gearing between the two providing a single output from the center of the engine assembly to the longitudinal transmission.

The chassis was formed of an aluminum honeycomb structure, wrapped in a sleek body designed by Marcello Gandini, who had previously designed the Lamborghini Countach and some aerodynamic Maseratis. The shape of the V16T is actually an original design for the Lamborghini Diablo by Gandini when he was at Lamborghini. However, in 1987 when Chrysler obtained controlling interest in Lamborghini, their design team "softened" the edges and generally modified Gandini's original design, leaving Gandini famously unimpressed. Gandini then joined forces with Zampolli and they conceived the Cizeta based on Gandini's original design for the Diablo. Thus, in some ways, the car could be considered what the Diablo would have looked like had Chrysler not intervened. Zampolli is credited with most of the final rear design, while Gandini is responsible for the rest.

Never before had the world seen a V16 engine mounted in a transverse layout. Such a setup was necessary due to the long length of the engine, but also made the car one of the widest ever produced. Essentially, two flat-plane V8's were grafted such that the timing mechanisms shared the center space. Gearing between the two provided a single input for the longitudinally mounted transmission. The block was similar to two Ferrari V8 engines but in the end it had to be cast as a fully custom unit.

The first time I saw that Cizeta in an online lobby in GT5 I thought it was something like a Diablo, I now even like it more than a Lamborghini, it just looks better. I am happy that it is a premium car in GT6. :)

It was designed by the same guy that did the Diablo, Marcello Gandini.
Without the corporate Lambo bosses and interference, he could do a design that was closer to his original ideas for the Diablo. And yes, he also designed the Countach. 8-)

You have better sources than me when it comes to certain cars. Thanks for fixing my post, if you see anything wrong with any of them don't feel afraid to mention it.

TechArt GTStreet RS '12
TechArt GTStreet RS '12.jpg
TechArt stand in Frankfurt has included two of the most incredible cars the tuner has offered lately. There was a new Porsche Cayenne package, but the show has been stollen by the GTStreet RS. Based on the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, the GTStreet RS is the most powerful car ever developed by TechArt.

The GTStreet RS is still powered by the GT2 RS’ standard 3.6 liter six-cylinder boxer engine, but its output has been skyrocketed to 720 HP and a peak torque of 663 lb-ft. However, before you can even feel how powerful this car is out on the road, it’s exterior look lets you in on the secret ahead of time.

The exterior kit for the GTStreet RS is all muscle with a significantly lowered front apron with a fixed carbon splitter and an adjustable splitter of hard-wearing polyurethane-RIM. The rear spoiler is also made entirely of carbon-fiber and joins a carbon fiber rear apron and integrated diffuser , as well as air outlets and carbon-fiber air wings. The car sits on a new set of 20-inch Formula Race lightweight forged center lock wheels that are combined with a Noselift System. This Noselift System allow for a rapid height adjustment of approximately 10 mm/s.

The hard-edged exterior gets combined with a softer interior covered in leather furnishings and combined with a delicately fashioned and custom-colored decorative stitching. These features are complimented by decorative components made of carbon-fiber, aluminum pedals, and illuminated door entry guards.

For the engine updates, Techart engineers used a TA 097/T2.2 power kit that increases the 3.6 liter six-cylinder boxer engine’s output to a total of 720 HP and a peak torque of 663 lbs-ft. Just a bit of math will show an increase of 100 HP from the GT2 RS’ standard 620 HP and the improvements don’t end there.

These power updates allow the GTStreet RS to make the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, while top speed goes up to an impressive 351 km/h, up from the 330 km/h standard.

Citroën C-Métisse '06
Citroën C-Metisse '06.jpg
The elegant design lines of the C-Métisse, the latest out-of-this-world concept car from Citroën, will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show later this month. Exceptionally stylish and powerful, the C-Métisse proves that a high performance car can also be green, combining a top speed of 250km/h with the ability to cover around 73 kilometers per gallon on the combined cycle.

Crammed with hi-tech innovations and neat touches, the C-Métisse explores new paths in car design and driving pleasure. Breathtakingly good looking, this model combines coupé styling with 4-door practicality thanks to the show-stopping gull-wing front and rear doors.

In particular, the C-Métisse has been developed to offer outstanding environmental credentials. It boasts an economical HDi V6 diesel engine, coupled with an acclaimed Diesel Particulate Filter System, and two separate electric motors on the rear wheels, capable of developing a massive 400Nm of additional torque. Around town the new concept car can even run in Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) mode.

With its unique and powerful style, this 4-seater, 4-door coupé is visually striking. It is also exceptionally low for a grand-tourer of its size, at just 1.24 metres high, which contrasts with its length of 4.74 metres and width of 2 metres. And with its long bonnet and virtually non-existent rear overhang, its design is classically Citroën.

Both outside and in, the C-Métisse takes styling to another level. The front doors open gull-wing style, while the rear doors spin round to provide outstanding accessibility for a car of such a low height. The large, eye-catching alloy wheels have been specially designed, with central wheel nuts hinting at the model's sporting nature.

Once inside the 'aircraft-style cockpit', occupants are enveloped by the extremely comfortable, individual white leather seats, and are surrounded by smart leather trim and aluminium inserts. Each of the passengers benefits from independent air conditioning controls, individual roof lighting and plenty of space.

The driving position has been designed to make life as easy as possible for the driver. The car can be started via 'fighter pilot' style buttons on the roof console, while the fixed-centred controls steering wheel, with mounted gear paddles, brings the essential driving and comfort aids within easy reach.

The unique central console is divided into five sections, within which are located key functions. The console then extends into the cabin via three illuminated strips which inform passengers of the current mode of hybrid propulsion. This lighting system is complemented by sound effects that accompany certain driver actions and indicate deployment of the airfoils.

A suspended head restraint and electric adjustment of the steering wheel and aluminium pedal assembly optimise the driver's line of view, while maintaining passenger space in the rear.

Further helping the driver to view the road ahead, the front headlamps are equipped with a row of LED's that light up progressively, dependant on the steering-wheel angle and vehicle speed, to provide optimal lighting and increased driver awareness through every corner.

A combination of the diesel hybrid power unit, optimised aerodynamics and reduced weight ensure that the C-Métisse offers outstanding levels of performance, fuel economy and a healthy respect for the environment - the C-Métisse can return around 45 mpg on the combined cycle and CO2 emissions of just 174g/km.

Powering the front wheels is a 208bhp V6 HDi diesel engine mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox, whilst a further two electric motors can drive the rear wheels. Providing an innovative 4-wheel drive capability, each of these motors can deliver up to 400Nm of torque and 20bhp.

The C-Métisse is focused on providing real driver pleasure and sets extremely high standards for out-of-town driving, as demonstrated by a stunning 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 6.2 seconds and impressive mid-range performance.

Driving pleasure is increased by a 'boost' function, activated under heavy acceleration, which activates to provide the immediate torque required. This combines the torque of the combustion engine with that of the electric motors that drive the rear wheels to enhance performance without pushing up fuel consumption.

This is achieved without compromising safety as, with the boost function and electric motors activated, the vehicle engages 4-wheel drive mode. ESP sensors are also capable of reporting low grip conditions to operate the electric motors, again ensuring that C-Métisse offers impeccable traction in all conditions.

The diesel hybrid drivetrain comprises a pack of high voltage batteries to supply the electric motors. Placed in the centre of the vehicle, the pack is automatically recharged during deceleration phases. The drivetrain and braking control unit automatically manage the energy configuration: transition from 2 to 4-wheel drive, energy recovery and the recharging of batteries.

All of which means that around town the C-Métisse can be driven in ZEV mode, a completely silent all-electric mode that helps limit fuel consumption and pollutant emissions. With the diesel powerplant running, Citroën's acclaimed Diesel Particulate Filter System ensures that virtually no particles are emitted into the atmosphere.

In keeping with recent concept cars from the Marque, the sculptured curves offer exceptional aerodynamics for optimal vehicle performance and fuel economy. Enlarged front air intakes, a flat underside, two retractable rear airfoils together with a rear fixed-fin spoiler contribute towards an excellent drag coefficient of 0.30.

Particular attention has also been paid to reducing the weight of the vehicle so that it requires less power to run, uses smaller amounts of fuel and therefore emits fewer pollutants. The carbon fibre body helps reduce the entire weight of the C-Métisse to just 1,400kg, including batteries.

It actually is completely new, as cars with that many modifications get a new VIN number in Germany. :geek:

One of the reasons why we can have RUF Porsches in a game, when Porsche has an exclusive licensing agreement with EA. 8-)
RUF is registered as a manufacturer, because he uses only the raw car body of Porsche and uses custom parts for everything else. I don't know if TechArt is registered as a manufacturer yet.

PS This is Lunytrickz favorite Porsche Tuner and she probably has driven a few IRL as well

Edit: fixed typo
