And i sincerely hope that no car manufacturer will ever make the same mistake again.
I still have to fire up my pCars2. Needs a huge update i think

RUF is not a substitute, it is it's very own manufacturer, better than the one people usually compare it with.Bear304 wrote:Wow Porsche and Ferrari in the same game and not the substitut RUF.

RUF will always be a tuner company in my eyes and not the real thing, so they'll always be a tuner in my eyes and a big annoying substitut for Porsche's in games, it's like if Barbus would be the substitut for Mercedes...Miao wrote:RUF is not a substitute, it is it's very own manufacturer, better than the one people usually compare it with.Bear304 wrote:Wow Porsche and Ferrari in the same game and not the substitut RUF.![]()
I'm one of the few people who would prefer a developer to focus on RUF's cars instead of Porsche's and only get the later's license to have a 918 Spyder, 924 Clubsport, 928 and a 959 in a video game.
Even in my eyes they are a bit of a tuner company, but when the "real thing" is mostly boring (and overhyped) it is the tuner that I'd like to have instead. Each to their own, I'd say. There's no way I'd be able to make a Porsche fanboy see RUF as the superior car maker.Bear304 wrote:RUF will always be a tuner company in my eyes and not the real thing
Except that Brabus, differently from RUF, isn't officially recognized as a manufacturer by the German government, so you can't have a Brabus car in a game without havin' a Mercedes-Benz license first.Bear304 wrote:it's like if Barbus would be the substitut for Mercedes...

Even if you were wrong I also don't think it'd be the end of RUF in games. Assumin' a Porsche license wouldn't be one of the most affordable ones I thought some companies with not so much money for licenses could go with RUF's instead. And of course some companies who are more focused on car history could have both manufacturers in their games, some future Gran Turismo title could likely have both (without Porsche bein' DLC like in most recent non-EA games, if not all).MadManCK wrote:I don't think it will be the end of RUF in games. He does not even ask money for the license if i'm correct.
Is Porsche just as bitchy as Ferrari in regard to these matters?MadManCK wrote:So there will be enough place to get both RUF and Porsche in the game. Unless Porsche decides to act like Ferrari and starts to make demands.

Bear304 wrote:But would you call Hennessey a tuner or car maker? As they do the exact same thing as RUF?
Hennessey is an American tunin' house, and they don't do the exact same thing as RUF.Bear304 wrote:In my eyes RUF will always be a tuner company, i see them nearly on the same level as AMG for Mercedes or Quattro for Audi, only difference being that RUF and Porsche never joined forces to makes the same bond of as AMG and Quattro did, so RUF remained a tuning specialist for Porsche's, but then again TechArt also fills that role
Some don't care about the Porsche badge. I know I don't.Bear304 wrote:but then again TechArt also fills that role - and you won't have to lose the Porsche badge and history in the process.
