I'm pretty sure Vettel drives a dog kennel, compared to LeClerc's car :mrgreen:

Reality is that most teams drive with two similar but not the same cars. Best and new parts usually go to the team leader.
Top teams do a better job in putting the best versions of their cars on the grid. But it is also known that smaller, privately owned teams are very "creative" in recycling, modifying and reusing parts :geek:

For some reason, however, Marko is protecting Albon. There are two drivers you do not want as a team mate in F1; Hamilton and Verstappen. Add Alonso to that line up next year. They will all make good drivers look like snowflakes, because of their ability to shape a complete team around them.

Another trhiller Qualifying. Lewis on Pole, but most impressive was Carlos Sainz in 3rd. :2thumbsup:
Maybe Renault finally found those 1.000 French Ponies they were bragging about. :P

I've been a Little Inactive Recently, But the Recent Races have been good.. Monza Might be Intresting Between the Mid Field but thats about it..

What happens when you take out Ferrari, Mercedes and Red Bull from the front? Epic race. :2thumbsup:
The midfield is very close together and the driver can make a difference. So does a team. By pitting Gasly just before the unfortunate LeClerc crash, he took the lead after the restart. Sainz chased hard but could not catch the unchained Gasly.

Hamilton did some damage control by driving from last position (10 sec stop/go) to 7th and bonus for fastest lap.
Bottas had cooling issues and could not push to the podium. Red Bull had some engine issues as well. Renault is now second fastest powerplant on the grid.

And what an unexpected podium it was. Gasly, Sainz and Stroll :mrgreen:

Sainz will scratch his head with the current performance of the McLaren and the drama at Ferrari.
But Ferrari has a brand new Engine on the test banks and will bounce back for sure.

Vettel will drive for Aston Martin next season. The current Racing Point Team will part with Sergio Perez.
I always liked Perez and hope he will find a new seat in F1, as he deserves it. Also he is the last Central/Latin American driver in the paddock and i always wondered why there are not more of them in the current F1 line up. Especially drivers from Brasil are known to be good drivers. 8-)
With the current "diversity" vibe in mind, it is even more strange that no more effort is made to attract drivers from that part of the globe.
Rumor is, that Kvyatt will be replaced with a Japanese driver next season. Honda might have had some influence in that decision.

Congratz to Ferrari for their 1000th ! GP start.
In honor of this milestone, the scuderia is driving in the original Ferrari colors. It looks awesome. Deep red makes the yellow shield stand out nicely. Never really a fan of matte colors anyway. They probably have a small advantage aerodynamically, but the glossy paint just pops.
