Just watched the highlights, wow. This really is a proper race track and very impressive from Lando Norris towards the end. :eeek:

Qualifying in Monaco is always special and the difference between the whole field was just half a second in Q1 and Q2.
It was really Ferrari vs McLaren this weekend. Mercedes did give some pokes and Max hit the wall with his RBR on his final attempt.
It was Charles LeClerc who grabbed pole at his home GP. :2thumbsup:

Making a good start will be key tomorrow.

Finally Charles LeClerc in Monaco :2thumbsup:

Overtaking is an art but in Monaco with the current GP cars virtually impossible without a serious mistake from other drivers.
F1 cars are too big, heavy and too wide maybe.

It was Ferrari and Mclaren this weekend who dominated and not Red Bull or Mercedes. Good for a change. Long term domination is never good for a sport.
And also great for LeClerc with even Prince Albert joining the Champagne ceremony. Priceless.

It started with a massive crash involving both HAAS drivers and Perez. That car from Checo was not much more than a monocoque. But he escaped relatively unharmed. Probably just bruised his ego. Hulkenberg called it unnecessary and i tend to agree. Track is too small to go side by side up hill there.

Even if it was like an extended drivers parade afterwards, i still liked to watch. It is all about focus and concentration, with drivers very close to the wall and sometimes even brushing it. Monaco is always something special and did not dissappoint in that regard.

Esteban Ocon and Alpine will part ways after this season.
There were strong signs management was not amused with Ocon mounting his team mate before the Monaco tunnel entrance, but there have been things brewing over there for a while now. To begin with both drivers have no contract for next year. Gasly is also looking for a new seat. Not a good sign.

Despite the interest from investors like Ryan Reynolds, management has seen more renewments than tire changes and stability at the top is a big factor in being a successful combination.

We remember the Schaffnauer interview, stating that he sometimes had to cross reference and ask permission to 2 or 3 people at Renault HQ before he could finalize a decision. That should never happen, certainly not in the fast paced World of Formula 1.

From what we hear is that Renault has stopped development of their 2026 power train and that the team is considering buying the engine somewhere else. What use is the brand name for the team than?
This might be a sign Renault F1 is looking for a buyer. Flavio Briatore has been mentioned as a mediator to secure a deal.

It would be ashame to see yet another Car brand leaving F1, as i strongly believe the sport should involve as many car brands as you can fit on the paddock

The current numbers are simply too high for privateer teams to survive. And those who can afford it, will see quickly what a money drain F1 can be if you are not fighting for the top positions.

The other big question circulating the paddock is; where does Adrian Newey go? :ugeek:

And will Max Verstappen indeed make the Mercedes 2026 move? :eeek:

Next race will be at the home of Canadian dictator Castroudeau

Smaller, lighter, less downforce. What do you think about the new 2026 regulations?
I think they look good. Donno 'bout the ridiculous batterypack. :ugeek:

What an insane apotheosis in Q3 of the Canadian qualifying session.
George Russel did a 1.12 flat and Max Verstappen drove the exact same time to the 1/1000 of a second.
As Max did the time later, George grabbed pole. And Lando Norris was only 0.021 behind the front row.

Weather looked to play a role but it never really started to rain. That will be a hefty race tomorrow. The start will be key as there are only a few overtaking spots.

Big drama for Perez, who failed Q1 and both Ferrari drivers stranded in Q2, after the last race in Monaco win.

The field has become closer together with both Aston Martin and "Minardi" making it to Q3.
