happened for real:
One day I found myself give a quick tap on the back of the left arm on the wheel of my real car to switch gear. My real car has a manual gearbox.
Another day I automatically tapped my left thumb on the position on the wheel where I have mapped rear view in TDU2, to actually check rear view, while in my real car.
Both times I smiled. For a moment, sitting at the wheel in real life and in tdu2 felt like overlapping dimensions.
