Lamborghini Gallardo Concept S '05
Image

The Lamborghini Concept S is a concept car designed by Luc Donckerwolke, using the Lamborghini Gallardo's floorplan. Shown at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show. It was intended to be a modern interpretation of the single-seat roadsters of the past. Utilizing a 'saute-vent' (French for 'change wind') instead of a traditional windscreen, and dividing the interior into two distinct compartments by continuing the bodywork between the seats, which also serves as an air inlet feeding the mid-mounted 5 L V10 engine, gives the car a distinctly futuristic look.

This is also to increase aerodynamic flow. The rear-view mirror is even electronically retractable to allow the driver to see behind, when necessary, or hide it when not in use. Though considered more of a styling exercise than a working production vehicle, the final working show car only had to be modified slightly from the original computer-aided designs. Lamborghini had rumored to be building 100 for customers, but decided to keep it as a styling exercise.

Only 2 models were ever made: the high-window prototype sits in the Lamborghini museum with no engine, while the running low-window prototype featured at Pebble Beach is rumored to remain elsewhere in the factory.

Top Speed = 325 km/h

Icona Vulcano H-Turismo '13
Image

The Icona Vulcano H-Turismo is a hybrid supercar designed and built by Icona. Originally shown as a concept car, production of the car is still to be considered.
What we know for sure - only five cars will ever be made and there will be two configurations of the car - H-Turismo (road) and H-Competizone (race).
The H-Turismo have an 6.0L V12 and an hybrid system which together trows out 950 hp trough the rear wheels. The result? Top speed is 350 km/h (217 mph) and 0-100 km/h will take only 3.0 seconds - the latter one was however stated before to take less than two seconds but launch control technology has seemed to change Icona's mind.
The H-Competizione though differs from it's road going twin almost everywhere - it have instead an twin-turbocharged V6 that combines with a pair of electric motors to produce 870 hp trough all four wheels. While having the same top speed, it will accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds.

Tata Airpod 2012
Image

Tata Motors has been showing off a new concept car that runs on compressed air and will give you 200 kilometers per full tank of…well, air.

The three-wheeler is controlled via a joystick rather than a steering wheel and utilizes pneumatic motors, which use pressurized air to drive the car’s pistons.

A full tank requires 175 Litres of compressed air at a cost of just one euro, which Tata Motors says will provide 200 kilometers of travel. The Airpod can carry three people at a time, including the driver, though two will have to sit facing the back window.

0 - 100 Km/h time = It can't
Top Speed = 80 km/h (Tata Claims)

Ford Focus RS500 '11
Image

Only 500 units were produced. The Focus RS500 is powered by an improved version of the 2.5L 20 V DOHC RS engine from the standard RS . The addition of an improved induction kit and a revised exhaust system will allow the engine to deliver a total of 345 hp (up from standard 300) and a peak torque of 339lb ft. The result is a sprint from 0 to 100 Km/h in 5.6 seconds and a top speed of 262 Km/h.

The Focus RS500 engine has been modified by a team enthusiast engineers from Ford TeamRS in partnership with Revolve Technologies, the automotive engineering firm which develops Ford approved performance upgrades through its Mountune brand.

The shared development and testing programme ensured that the 350 PS Duratec RS engine achieved the specified performance targets while also delivering the standards of durability and serviceability expected by Ford RS customers.

The comprehensive engineering details already developed for the 305 PS Focus RS engine – including a revised cylinder head gasket, ultra-durable metal sprayed cylinder bores, revised pistons and new connecting rods – have ensured that no further mechanical changes were required to cope with the increased performance of the 350 PS RS500 unit.

Wiesmann GT MF4-CS '13
Image

GT MF4-CS model can be immediately recognized as a Wiesmann. It gets the usual elements we have seen on all the other models announced by the German automaker, including: a wide wheel arch, modified front end with large splitter, daytime running lights and a carbon rear wing.

The model received a series of elements that helped reduce the car’s weight by 20 kg (44 pounds). These elements include a roof made in carbon fiber, super-light polycarbonate windows and the lack of door handles.

For the interior, the CS model receives sport bucket seats and, in order to save even more weight, customer can opt for no air conditioning or audio system.

Wiesmann also offers an optional carbon pack or a track pack that adds four point harness, sport brake pads and Michelin Cup tires. Under the hood, the GT MF4-CS receives a BMW-sourced V-8 engine that delivers a total of 420 hp. For increased protection at high speeds, the MF4-CS is equipped with a fully adjustable chassis that adapts to road conditions and driving style. The maker also offers sports brakes and a specially tailored rear axle ratio for faster acceleration.

0-100 km/h time = 4.4 secs
Top Speed = 293 km/h

Caterham Seven 620R '13
Image
The Seven 620R is the fastest, and the most extreme, road car Caterham has ever made. Built to celebrate 40 years of development and production of the Seven, it have an new 2.0L, supercharged Ford Duratec engine that produce 310 hp. In a car that weights only about half a ton, it doesn't equal high top speed (250 km/h, 155 mph) but rather an quick acceleration - 0-100 km/h = 2.9 seconds!
